Default first gear jerk

dammit i forgot my car was in first and i let go of the cluthc really fast cuz i thought it was in neutral and the car jerked forward and stalled. is this bad? sorry for asking so many questions, but im new at stick shifting and still learning

It's not good for the car, but it's not really catastrophic either.

Just don't make a habit of it.

pfft, we all done it. I bet.

I have, its not good, but there are way worse things you can do. I stalled it today, whoops. what can you do? no bodys perfect.

Don't fret it. Everyone has done it. I've been driving a stick since 1967, thanks Uncle Sam, and I did it no more than 2-3 years ago. :-) Seriously, you will do it less all the time and you will never reach a point where you don't do it. Manual transmissions are rock solid and unless you seriously abuse it you should have no trouble. There are other bad habits that will do harm; resting your hand on the stick, riding the clutch and miss shifting.
