When I painted calipers on my other car, I didn't need to bleed the brakes. Why do you want to bleed them?
Stuff in the way from painting them?

I don't know anyone whos taken their calipers off to paint them, so I cannot be of much help. Just cover the surrounding area with newspaper and plastic bags (over the rotors) and there shouldn't be a problem. ALOT easier than taking them off.

Default Bleeding.........

When I had OEM brakes, I removed the calipers to replace the brake pads & add SS lines & painted them while they were off. When I removed the lines, I merely "capped" the line coming to the brake lines so not much fluid was lost. After re-installing the lines & calipers & while bleeding the brakes, I tapped on the calipers with a soft rubber mallet (covered with a towel) while bleeding in order to "help" remove any air pockets in the caliper reservoirs. That took care of things & led to a good, tight, firm pedal.
