I might be buying this Z tomorrow and wanted some info.

Main concern is how are they in the winter? I won't be able to afford a beater 4x4/AWD to drive during the winter if I buy this car.

Next question is how in the leather in these cars? Is it worth holding out to find another one with leather?

i'vr never driven one in the snow, but others members on the board say its a PITA in winter conditions. STI or EVO perhaps?

 

thought about it but I dunno... I really hate the small wheels on them, ruins the look of the car.

 

The Z, Evo and Sti all come with summer tires. So none of them will be useful in the slightest in winter weather. However, if you get a second set of wheels with some snow tires -- any of the three of them would be fine for winter driving.

 

Good point. I rode in a Z yesterday and the handling was phenomenal. So hopefully some nice winter tires would ensure some safety in the winter... I mean, i dont plan on riding through 1 ft. deep snow, I'd only be going on well plowed roads but black ice and just overall slickness of the road is an issue.

 

I'll be doing the same thing. I'm buying nice winter tires, and it should give some real nice traction and stopping/turning abilities in the winter. Like you said, we won't really be able to plow through standing snow, but we'll be able to get around!
