Default Grey Smoke spewing from under the Engine...

I just got a brand spankin new Z (base MT Coupe) - about 550 miles now. I was doing my usual commute back home on the highway and decided to push the Z a little...you know...break in the engine a bit. Not too much though...I stayed under 80MPH cuz the highway's still jammed pack with cars...just did me some bobbin-and-weavin.

Anywho, when I get home and parked the Z I smelled something funny. When I got out, I saw this greyish nasty cloud of smoke just spewing from underneath my engine. It stopped after like a minute. I really can't describe the smell but I guess it doesn't matter.....it all doesn't seem normal to me.

Any clues of what's goin on? Anyone have the same thing happen with a brand new Z?

My car did something similar for the first few hundred miles. It's the preservative burning off of the exhaust system. It'll go away after awhile. Sure does stink though, doesn't it? BTW, where in VA are you? You should introduce yourself to the mid-A regional section when you have a chance. There's a great group of guys here in the area, and lots of good events coming up.

Whewwwww! Awesome...thanks for the info! I's gettin worried there for a sec. Thought I did something wrong to my precious.

I'm actually up here in Alexandria, VA. I'll definitely put an introduction on the Regional section to see if there are any fellow Z'rs around here.

Thanks!

There are a LOT of us in your area!!! You'll be surprised. We're working on a local Z/G club. The web-site is www.capital350zclub.com. Check it out when you have a chance.
