Angry Front Bumper Repainted ??????

Guys ,

just wondering , how many of you Z owner that had your front bumper repainted due to Rock chip ?
is that true that if you just repainted the bumper , you have to wait about couple months before installing a clear bra ?
any one has rock chip and didn't repaint your bumper instead just install the clear bra right away w/o fixing the rock chip ?

ne comments will be greatly appreciated .

Peace

I was told that you have to wait 1 month before install, because if you put it on before paint hardens it might pull paint off.

That kind of rules out having bumper redone unless you have a 2nd car to drive around for a month. Although maybe the new paint will not be as prone to rock chip as nissan paint(yeah it's different stuff)

i was told by a clear-bra installer that 90 days are needed to cure the fresh paint.

i am getting my front bumper painted because it's disgusting. but i dont think imma spend the money for the clear bra. hopefully the paint will not peel or chip like the oem paint as easily.

i will just repaint the bumper 2yrs later or something. haha.

i decided to install the clear bra without having it repainted .
one of my homie got his Z touched up and its OBVIOUS ...
the body guys also told that if we touch up then we put a clear bra , the touch up paint will blend with the bra .and it only making it worse...correct me if i'm wrong ..

Well since you have drill holes in your front bumper as well, you can solve two problems in one shot with a repaint... if that's any consolation

a brand new bumper from nissan is like 280. shouldnt cost more than 100-200 or so to get it painted?

with no talent and basic tools, it took me 15 mins to remove the entire from bumper .. its really easy.

You might try PMing a regular here named krinkov. He does clear bras for a living, and I believe he uses the 3M films (one of two prevalent films used on the market).

Why would you want to remove the clearbra from the bumper? You can't re-use it.

I am personally very torn about this whole clearbra concept.

Its $550 to get it done, which is nice, but a whole new bumper costs less than that....

That being said I will probably do it anyway.

How much does the clear bra cost? It might just make sense to skip it, and repaint a couple times.

Typically in the neighborhood of $500 or so.
