Let me Guess you tried to take a 90 degree turn at 80 mph and the tires are no good. Right? Maybe the side wall roll is due to the exceptional grip compared to the potenzas rather lame grip, hence you will never get enough grip to roll the side wall with the potenzas

What do you mean junk, I have them and they perform rather well, but it seems as though you have them in the stock tire profile. Still the tire should be performing much better than stock.

Just my .02

i just had the 555's installed a few days ago after 17k with the stock shitenza's. They are a far better tire considering the price.

I had a buddy who replaced his OE Pilot Sports to Nitto 555s onto his GTI and he hates that tire also. He said the sidewall is so much softer than the OE tires. Well, I guess you get what you pay for...
Tires have stiff side wall are Pilot Sports, PS 2, S-03...just to name a few.

I agree about the Nitto's being a great tire....I've got the 555's as well (see sig for sizes) and they are fantastic......had them on the track too and they stuck great. I'd buy them again.

Actually I ws doing 127 exactly around a gradual turn keeping it in my lane and the sidewall rolls all over the ****ing place. Air pressure is good too! My potenzas grabbed just as good if not better, They definately handeled much better. They would not slide or roll at same speeds on same turn. So you tell me which is junk and not. (HINT: It's the Nitto 555's)

Well you got me

I haven't had the chance to take a gradual turn at 127 with my nittos nor are my nittos the stock size, so I'll take your word for it. the nittos must suck.

Everybody has an opinion and mine is that the stock tire in the stock size compared to what I have now was far worse for the type of driving that I do.

One day I would love to track the car and see how far I could really push it, but until then I can't say.

If you would have said you were tracking your car with stock tire sizes I probably wouldn't have commented b/c I have no track experience

It's all good though
