Default Insurance

I've been shopping around to see what insurance will run me per month, in the event I still decide to get a Z next year. I was guessing it might cost me about $150 a month for full coverage here in CA with a $500 deductable. I have found out that I can get full coverage for that price with some shopping around but I was wondering what you guys pay per month on your Z only?

I'm 36 years old with no tickets of any kind in the last 5 years. No accidents in the last 15+ years. No DUI's no suspensions or revokes or anything like that ever.

I'll be 37 in November and that just seems a tad bit high to me for somebody with a clean record.

I know damn well if my parents had a Z (lol like they'd ever buy one) it would run them probably less than $100 a month. Must be nice to be REALLY old. LOL Lucky for me they won't read this:-D

Here is what I did.

Our family currently owns a 02 rsx and a 98 civic. W/ standard coverage, 21st quoted at zip of code of 94121 @ ~1300 for 6 months. My dadis 52 and I'm 25. Now, I went back and changed the '02 rsx to a 350z and the quote was ~1600 for 6 months. I think it really depends on your location in the Bay Area because San Francisco has outraguous rates. I would say you should expect anything from no price hike to an additional 50 a month. Bump your deductable to 1000 if you wanna bump it lower.

I wouldn't post that kind of info if I were you. If you ever need to file a serious claim and your insurance company finds out, consider yourself cancelled with no payed claim. I'd pay the extra to insure myself for the area I lived in if I were you. Just some advise. Take it or leave it.

Oh, I pay 840.00 yr. 0 ded comp, 250 ded collision through state Farm. Multi car discount + good driving and I've been with them over 20 yrs.

Check out Wawanesa, they offer some of the lowest rates with great service to boot (you can find testimonials all over the Internet). Rated rather well by the CA Bureau of Insurance Consumer Complaint Study:

http://www.insurance.ca.gov/SAB/Repo...laint/Auto.htm

I'm at $103/mo with the highest coverages. Two vehicles, the other being a '94 Civic. I live in a not-so great neighborhood as well, thus my premiums are elevated some.

$5000 a year?!? That's crazy. I just got a quote from Progressive for $2200 a year. 21M in CA, 2005 350Z, $500 deductable. I'll probably get it insured under my dad's plan and just pay him monthly.

I pay $627 every 5 months with Allstate. Clean record, 31 years old and a $500 deductible. I also run with the 100-300 coverage because living in this town the chances of getting in a wreck with some 90,000+ ride is VERY likely.

Just last week I some poor guy in an old 2 Door Accord that had ploughed in to the back of a new SL600!!!! OUCH!!

My wife's 2002 Jeep Liberty runs me a staggering $1200 every 5 months because she has 2 or 3 points on her license!!!

Insurance was the kicker for me when I bought my Z. I had a 01 gallant and an 03 montero sport. If the rates were high I could not have afforded the Z. I called USAA my ins. co. and it went up 5 bucks a month. I pay 1300 a year I am 35, married clean record 250 deductible 50/100/50 PIP. I'm happy. I had paid much more when I had my 300ZX and my Formula.

$114 a month from Mercury for 100/300.

If I had to pay $5000, I'd choose to be an outlaw instead!

If the car has more safety features, will the insurance rate be a bit lower? When I got a quote for the '05 350Z, I decided to get a quote for my Eclipse RS, mind you it's only a base model, and the 350Z came out $50/month cheaper.
