hell exsilio, your leaving one the best road/track cars in todays market!
The question for you should be...how are YOU going to handle switch from the great E46 M3 to a Touring Z?
Now thats a big difference in breaking, and accelerating IMO.

I ask myself that question everyday.
But I look at it this way...in between periods of sobbing...
1. I REALLY like the styling of the Z
2. It is lighter than the M3
3. pwr/wt ratio is respectable on the Z, close to the M
4. I'll get to play around with the navi system..I didn't get it on the M because BMW navi sucks
5. Z is more of a true sports car and not so mucha sports coupe..but don't let my M hear anyone say that
6. I'll save money which is the main objective both on monthly payments and on my insurance
7. I happened to find this message board, and with the exception pf doc bonz , I think you guys are the best forum guys around
So I will miss my M very much, but I am sure the Z will more than fill that void.

The Z could easily end up with as good or better brakes than the M3 no data out there yet, but the G35 coupe with skinny tires and a weight penally over the Z stops from 70 mph in 162 feet (same as a C5 vette, M roadster, and M3 convertible according to C&D).
The M3 will out accelerate the Z most likely, but by how much?? not sure are you? The M3 is a lot heavier than the Z has less torque, but a good deal more HP. Who knows for sure? I am not saying there will be a BIG difference. Also the Z could end up with a handling edge as the M3 has been described as too soft by a number of people.

Hey Exsilio,
Don't feel like you have to justify your choice for the Touring Model to anyone. I personally chose the Touring Model because I wanted leather and the Bose 240w sound system. I also felt the 18" rims on the touring looked better than the more open spoked Rays rims. (I do hope that we are getting the polished rims I saw at the auto show, but I don't think we are getting those!) I also do not believe that there is going to be any diffrences between any of the models as far as acceleration is concerned due to the weight diffrence not being significant.
The truth of the matter is that no matter which model you choose, we are all very lucky to "SOON" be driving one of the nicest sports cars on the road today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
