I highly doubt the '06 minor changes, if any, will even touch what the GT-R has in store for us, lol. I think we're talkin' more about the minor changes more than what the next Z car will have An interior update won't hurt the previous Zs much, not in terms of performance. *prays*

My guess is that Nissan will stay conservative for 2006: Up the HP to 300 for the basic model and upgrade the interior. They need to make profit.

lets see...just to beat a dead horse....

reasons Nissan wont up the power in the short term...

1) GTR
2) 35th Anniv just came out with a moderate engine tweak
3) keep low-ish price

imho Nissan needs to focus on Nismo and come out with some competitively priced products they dont already offer

All this wild speculation.

Before anyone writes off their resale value I'd say just wait it out, 4th year is WAY soon for a major update to a car thats selling pretty decent. If they were having trouble (i.e. not kicking the RX8's ***) I could see it, but why retool and spend the money if you don't have to?

Oh and also, it may not reflect as poorly on your resale value as you might think. You won't be able to tell that until after the car is out.

the 2006 Z will have a new interior and all models will have the new 300hp engine.
also, infiniti is getting the skyline.
this is what my friend told me that works at a dealership, i think he said he saw the info on his managers computer or something like that.

Sounds about right. But ewww, i dun want the 300 hp engine. i want more usable torque!!!! I hope the 300 won't be like the 35th.

Any details on how well the interior updates would be nice to know.

I would like to see my Armada motor in the 06.

It can motivate my 5K lb SUV well enough!

The sound is wonderful too.

A 4.0 VQ would be nice though, and would have more potential than the 3.5.

Before the comments flood in about the Armada V8, it was only a joke, sort of.

why would you want a VQ40? only 270hp and 290lb-ft?
i would rather a tuned vq35 - 340hp. if tuners can get 280rwhp out of the first vq in the Z, it has to be possible with the new 7k rpm VQ...

what's the problem with the interior???? That's one of my favorite things about my Z...the seats, the dash layout, the doors.....I love it. Is there something I don't know about?

The 4.0 VQ could be designed for hp over torque, and has more potential than the 3.5 VQ.

I highly doubt you are going to see 280 rwhp out of a stock 3.5, unless it has forced induction.

They have to build engines that are reliable, and thats pushing the edge of the envelope.

I love my Endurance too.

Put some Flows on your Armada if you want to hear something awesome.

A 400Z wouldn't suprise me, or be that weird.

240Z, 260Z, 280Z, 300ZX, 350Z, 400Z. Works for me.

This is my guess as well. And I don't believe for a minute that the 35th this year will have any impact on what is offered next year. The '05's will run their course and when the 06's drop Nissan isn't going to give a crap what you bought in '05. I've never really thought of the 35th as all that special, it's simply a track and a touring combined with some nice OEM wheels and a few extras. *shrug* It's certainly not any kind of landmark model that will be cherished for years. I'm guessing only the most fanatical Z fan would be able to identify my car as a 35th on the street. I've been asked a few times where I bought my "aftermarket wheels".

Please reference Chevy Corvette. They issued their 50th aniv. model and then changed the body style the next year. Man did that **** of my Bro-in-law. He bought the 50th and then saw the new one come out. Nice way to kill the value so quickly, by issuing a body style change right after a special edition.
