Yeah I smell it too. Not a very nice smell either and it's definately not clutch. Hopefully it will get better as I put more miles on the car.

lol I would hope "a really bad burning smell" is not on the list of features!

It means the car is running rich. Which is normal for a sports car.

My car gets that same burning smell too, and I've read about other Z's with the same smell after full throttle, so I think it's normal. I think it must come from the exhaust or something. One time, I was going into a freeway entrance, and a black Z next to me wanted to get in as well, so I let him go in front and he nailed it, and man does it smell like crap....lol

I get the same burning smell from my engine after I go WOT. Especially noticeable when I spray. I suppose that could be a good thing. I'd rather run a bit on the rich side than on the lean. I'm just happy to hear it's not only me that has it.

Default Smell After Hitting Redline

I get that smell, stank, after hitting redline cutoff a couple of times on a run. It smell like an electrical fire. I have 2400 miles on my ZR GT and suspect it is from the engine running rich. The other idea is that maybe hitting redline or cutoff triggers an electrical issue or circuit overload. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

A common "half-assed-solution" technique in engine design is to dump fuel into the cylinder to dissapate heat. Many engines do that, especially right before redline, they may run a little rich but take much less stress.
