Unless your in snow/ice country or a madman behind the wheel, I don't think VDC is that important. More safety is always nice but not essential.

For what its worth, I've seen a lot of people complaining about having to deal with the tire pressure sensors on aftermarket wheels.

I decided to go with VDC because of our crappy winters here, I intend to use my roadster in the winter (at least first year, then I'll see how business goes )

I driven my 05 Enthusiast through some downpours in California, it handles fine to me. However, I would suggest getting new rims + tires, as the stock potenza's aren't that great in the rain, dry traction its okay. I cheated a little and bought new Goodyear Eagles GS D3's and they kept the Z firmly planted down to the ground on rainy days.

Whether or not TCS helped me in the rain, it never lite up when I went through huge lakes of water. However, it works real well when you try to launch aggresively (good to turn it off if you do the 1/4 mile track).

If you plan to mod alot, you can buy a base Z + Nismo LSD (or other aftermarket LSD's) as a good starting point. Buy an Enthusiast if you plan to do some light modding and nothing serious.

If I lived in snow/ice country, VDC would be a must.

Haha. Nope that wasn't me. No, my GF has a new Mazda 626..pretty much stock. But she DOES love the Z...so she passed that test. I can keep her.

And I'm not even about to get into your comment about me having to have a Z to beat her Z (implying that the Rex couldn't do it). Because I'm obviously way outnumbered here! j/k. No, I'll be honest and say that I've never raced one (and I've read soo many Z vs. WRX threads so don't feel the need to repost them for me) but I figure it would be a great race from a stop! I've only raced my friend's 01/02 S2K from a 5-10 mph roll (he wouldn't go from a stop) and we were dead, I mean dead even up to about 95mph or so when he started to inch away. (not to brag but we are both excellent drivers) It was great..as if we were simultaneously going only 50mph...about 3 feet apart from each other. He just had a Comptech CAI. Between 9ks or revving and the turbo/Bov, I was in heaven. A Z would have been a nice addition to the friendly race though .

I really couldn't care less about who would win though..S2K, Z, whatever...that's not why I bought the car, nor why I'm buying the Z. Just stopped at the dealer on my way home right now...think I'm going to have to go with Silverstone after all. Prob Enthusiast.
