Ya it would talk a lot more than intake and exhaust to get him to 300 let alone 350 that he is claiming. I wouldnt be able to tell you about his times since he is also claiming on 18psi boost. "/

I got around to racing my friends wrx which has an intake, tb exhaust, boost controller(with only 15psi) from a complete stop and i thought i was gonna get my *** whooped because i was completely stock and everytime i launched my car i would drop the clutch at 3000 rpm but all i ever did was spin tires through first gear(and burn clutch ) so when i raced him i tried not reving it all and just flooring it on green and it worked best and out of 2 runs i was 1 for 1 so we still have to settle who is faster with one more race...so you should just try flooring it without dropping the clutch with the VDC on of course

to keep everyone updated... we raced last night, the Z got killed - not even funny. the car does fun 12.9 (i saw the sheet) all stock except computer managment, intake, exaust, and boost controller... i launched with alil more burning out than needed, but that thing is a rocket no chance for the Z....same night we raced a v8 5.0 mustang that just got killed by us, and I also raced a GTO (350HP '04), and we were in front of that thing by a foot thru the whole race, it was amazing, i thot we were gona get killed...clutch in the Z was always dropped around 2-3k.... ...5k on a Z would just spin the tires for an hour and do nothing...can anyone, who knows how to launch the thing, tell me what to do please...thanks.

ok, i think you need a lil tip about launching. "dropping the clutch" is like dumping the clutch. you just let off the clutch and go pedal to the metal, right? you notice how the car lurches forward and bogs real nasty-like? thats because you need to "feather" the clutch.
what this means is keep the clutch pressed in just barely enough so it does not engage when u give it a little throttle. keep the RPMs around 2000, and then slightly let out on the clutch so it starts to engage. it should slip alot as you go faster you can slowly release the clutch and apply full throttle. it takes a bit of practice to time it right. it's not like an auto where you just slam the throttle. this thing has too much torque for that.
it's like shifting kinda...you gotta give it a little gas and not dump the clutch too fast...or you'll bog and its bad on the tranny.

Actually the WRX is not a car to be taken lightly of. My friend has an 04' WRX with catback, access port...and he just got a downpipe, allowing him to run stage 2. I can tell u right now, with those 3 things, it flies. I get jealous every time i run with it just because turbo cars with smart mods can make significant gains. But like everyone says, my Z will always look better.

launching on the wrx is amazing...its a rocket... z is much better looking, and everything and i would pick it any day..and wrx ride sucks..no torque like z..not fun to drive at all. .. so drop the clutch at 2000 for best 0-60 time ? not drop it..but slowly let go of it while im at full throttle..?
