While you're rolling, what do you have displayed on your trip computer?

 

Speed indicator. I am used to driving the S2K and I like the digital numbers. It is also good to know what gear to.

 

yup speed, I flip through occasionally, but for the most part, just speed.

 

When I'm timing a trip, I have the speed/distance on, but most of the time I use the speed indicator. It's nice to have the other displays for quick checks (how hot/cold is it outside? How's tire pressure doing?) but for steady running, speed is the most useful.

I like the trip computer a lot!

 

I don't understand why the digital speedo is at all useful unless you're pulling into the pit lane at Road Atlanta and need to keep it right at 40 MPH.

Tire pressure is the single most important feature IMO. You could take every other function away and I wouldn't care one bit.

 

well to be honest, on daily drives, I have no need to look at tire pressure all the time, if something goes so far out of wack that it requires my attention, then it will get my attention. I dont need to sit there and watch it; yup warming up now, 35psi... isnt that interesting.

just my thoughts, great feature dont get me wrong, but to use your own story, unless Im on the drag strip concerned about my tire pressure, then it really doesnt matter.

 

Call me crazy, but since my tires are the only connection I have to the road, I'm a bit particular about their condition. I think it is very interesting to watch the pressure depending on road conditions, outside temp, driving habits. The PSI monitor is a excellent way to monitor individual tire pressures during hard and/or aggressive driving to see which tires heat up the fastest under what conditions and make mental notes. That's info you can take with you to the track or auto-x in order to try and dial-in your PSI well before you start your first session.

Do you not check it at all, or just take a look in the morning when leaving for the first time?

i wish i could display fuel pressure... hmm.. i wunder if there is a way to add it on ... heheh

 

R34 GT-R owns.... I always loved that NAV / Information Display on the GT-R. You can set it to display like 40-50 things I believe?

 

Before getting my Z, I thought that I'd be keeping it on the air temp selection. But I've found that I like it best showing the speed. I tend to keep my steering wheel low and it sometimes obscures the top of the speedo. I think that I can see the speed better and quicker on the trip computer too.

I do flip around getting close to the bottom of the gas tank or to check the outside temp if its cold outside though.

 

like most everybody else, i have the the speed up. its too hard to see the speedo.

 

Digi speedo here. Although, the other night I started driving home and the temp was displayed. I was like, WTF, I didn't switch it to temp! And there was some tiny text that I couldn't read until I stopped. Of course, you're probably all saying to yourselves, "ICY". This was the first time I experienced the trip computer automatically switching to another mode to warn me about something, BTW, it was 36 degrees.

 

I'm in the majority, Speed only cause the rest bore me.

 

Outside temp. We already have a analog speedo.... and I don't really need a digital one to back it up.

 

In the winter, I find the Temp reading to be VERY helpful. In ZEATTLE we often hover 7-10 degrees either side of freezing. I appreciate getting kissed before any particular spinout occurs.


During warmer weather, I go with digi speedo.

 

Usually digital speedometer since I can't really see the analog one, but sometimes I have average fuel economy and speed up if I'm on a drive somewhere...
