Dedicated electric leaf blower followed up by DF towels or waffle weave towel. (Dabbing, not wiping) Should keep the swirls down to a minimum.

Lots of posts in the search and detailing section

I use DF towels and a Calisfornia Water Blade.

What leaf blower do you use or recommend?

I got a toro from home depot - you can pick one up for <$40 with several to choose from. The higher the air output the better.

There has been some debate as to whether you can use an air compressor to accomplish the same thing - and there is speculation that you run the risk of rust in the tank abrading the paint with the compressor. The leaf blower works like a charm and really helps get all the water out of the grooves so that you don't have spotting later.

Below is the one I have and it works fine - $30...

Toro
Power Sweep™ Blower
Model 51586

i have the craftsman wet/dry vac it has a blower also. i think it a 20 gallon shop vac. i use 100% cotton towel and ZAINO try wiping your car back and fort instead of the circular motion this will reduce the swirl marks

I just use the Absorber, which is like $8 or $9 at Walmart. I don't have any swirling problems. But, that leaf blower idea sounds interesting, I might have to check it out.

I have an Absorber too! $8 and it lasts forever. I love it.

It squeezes out very easy.

You know what though? I noticed that they don't absorb as much when they get older. They still work well, and the used ones slide across the paint easier, but the new ones absorb much more water. I think I'm going to break down and get another one.

I am probably in the minority. I never use soap. Just water and a car brush. Chamois dry.

I've started to use these too! Love the Absorber! Best thing is they don't get hard when they dry like the leather chamois I use to use.

LOL. Funny you mention that. I tried the leaf blower once and got some weird looks but it's definitely the way to go. Once I get out of my apt and get into a house I'm definitely going back to that.

I currently use a microfiber sponge to wash my car and a large microfiber towel to wipe it down.

From previous experiences with an Absorber, I wouldn't recommend it on a black car. They tend to hold on to dirt and will put swirls all over a black car if you're not careful.
