I'd be *very* surprised if running the A/C (all other things being equal) actually increased gas mileage. That's just completely counterintuitive.

You guys that dont believe the AC method of saving gas, do an experiment for your selves. You will be surprised. All the test that I have conducted had nothing to do with windows up or down because they were always up to begin with during testing. Find a nice long stretch of road with near flat surface , no hills. Turn you mpg gauge on. Drive with air off for 30min or so at 60-65 mph with cruise on. Do the exact same stretch or similar with same variables and switch AC on. Watch your mpg climb +2. Works every time.

That maximum pressure stamped into a tire is the max for a given rated load. Since those tires are not made specifically for the Z, that does not mean that you can put that much air in them safely. Nissan has already gone thru the trouble of calculating the correct air pressure based on the tire rating and the weight of the car, then factoring in performance, handling, ride quality, tire wear and safety.

NEVER, and i repeat, never put what the max tire pressure says on a tire. this does not allow for expansion when hot and can cause a major malfunction of the tire. not a good thing if cruising at 70mph. even if you change the tire sizes, still only fill it to what the pressure says on the doorframe.

I find the window-up-less-air-resistance theory more believable than the A/C having anything to do with it.
