...accidentally push the hazard light button with their elbow while you're driving? My girlfriend does this at least once a week. Drives me crazy. I told her the other day that she can't be the only one that has this problem, so I thought I'd post here and see.

Yeah, that's really bad ergonomics. They shoud have put that button behind the steering wheel or something. My wife hasn't turned them on, but my friend has turned mine on 2 times out of the 4 or 5 times he's been in my car. Maybe I should get a new friend....

My wife has done it repeatedly and yes I got annoyed but our displeasure should be directed at Nissan I realized. The hazard button is poorly placed in a place most people consider to be an armrest. Seemed placed as an afterthought as if having a double DIN stereo was more important.

My friends push it on purpose if I pass someone. LOL
I want to hook it up to a little shock thing to zap them when they touch it.

My GF of 2 years has never accidently pushed this as far as I remember. There is an easy solution to this fellas, if your friends have their arms on your center console they are too ocmfortable. Simply, downshift 2, maybe 3 gears, hit it, and find some corners to take fast, they will at this point hold on to the weak door handle on the passenger side door, and not be able to hit the hazards My damn passenger side door handle is loose....

Very first time driving the car, my friend hits it.. I had NO clue where the hell it was, so we pulled over and started hitting random switches until he finally found it. ^_^

Geez, I didn't even think about those switches. My car wasn't equipped with heated seats, so all I have in place of those switches is a blank plate. I'd be hitting those myself, all the time wondering why my butt is getting so damn hot.

Yeah, I freak out every time she pushes it. Something in the back of my head starts screaming about SES lights and why the heck they're comming on all of a sudden. Then, I realize it's just the flashers and calm down enough to start yelling at her.

Actu ally believe it or not my dog is the one who keeps hitting mine. When he gets in the car he almost always puts a paw on the button.

Default Pushing Buttons

When we first had the car my wife pushed the button when I dropped her off at work. This is before I got hearing aids, so I did not hear the flashers and did not see them. I drove around for couple hours in the Z getting used to the way it feels and took it out on some twisties. When I got home I finally saw them on.
During the driving I was getting all sorts of strange looks and stares and I couldn't figure out why.
My most embarassing moment in the Z!!!

I use the flashers on purpose! It tells everyone I'm coming! LOL J/K
What can it hurt to have them on though? If you're going fast and changing lanes a lot it calls attention to you...may be a good thing or a bad thing, not sure yet. Will try and report with my verdict! LOL

Never had the problem.... I've barely had my Z for a month and a half though, so I'm sure this will eventually happen to me as well.

I have a 2003 Track with custom leather and heated seats, never had a problem with accidentally hitting the heated seats switches but then the ones I have are aftermarket.
I have had a couple of friends accidentally press the hazard lights switch but its not a frequent occurance.
