Default JIC Suspension and Adjustable A Arms.

Well, for the racers out there it looks like JIC will have some nice solutions for us. Especially the adjustable upper A arms for the front suspension to gain more camber, or at least some camber adjustment. See here:

This stuff may already be in production, you may want to check Avalon Racing's site (or whoever you know that distributes JIC), as I know their exhausts are out, as well as the coilover system.

Speaking of suspensions changes does anyone know how the Nismo S Tune system with shocks, coils, sway bars and 20mm drop will do to affect the current isues with suspension, I know it does change any control arams but I am ignorant on the the subject and the effects of changing soomething.

Since there are no upper a-arms on the front of a 350Z my guess would be JIC will make the lowers adjustable. That will help a lot for the inside tire wear these cars are having.
As to the nismo parts it depends if they make the strut mounts adjustable. If they are not then tire wear will still be a concern. I would not mind getting these parts but I am not sure I want to be an inch lower.

did you guys miss the ohter stuff they said on that site? lemme recap :
"Ziel Motorsports is in the development stage of it's twin turbo kit and many carbon fiber body parts including a dry carbon hood, front spoiler, side spoilers and rear under spoiler. Ziel's goal to to take a track record at Willow Springs Raceway in 2003. "

dry carbon fiber is what you buy when you intend to paint it. has no resin type clear coat on it.

oh ya and takin a record at willow springs.. should be interesting.

and did they make a typo sayign adjustible A arms. are they going to be adjustable lower control arms?

you are right, I looked at the pics a second time and saw the uppers. Missed them the first time around. How long till they are for sale? I think there is a need for about 10k sets right now and about 30k sets next year.
Do you have any photos of them?

We are gonna put some hard laps on them at Daytona the first week in Jan. We will then be able to change anything we need to before they go into final production.

Cool, just let us know when they are ready for sale, and one thing please keep them simple to adjust. I have done set ups on stock cars and changing the camber and caster at the track can be a real pain at times. Good luck at Daytona.

Here is the problem I see with an adjustable upper A arm. The stock piece is aluminum and very light. More than likely an adjustable piece will have to be made of steel. That will have it's own tradeoff in increased unsprung weight.

yes our first pc is steel. I would much rather have a piece that might have some beef to it than a piece that lets go on the banking. Wieght is not a prolem for us.
These are not 30 minute track sessions that we will be running in, its wheel to wheel.......or fender to fender endurance races. Time in the pits = not winning races.
This is not saying that our final production pieces will be steel. Just saying wieght is not an issue for us but time is.

Hey dwnshift or nathan; what is your opinion on grounding kits and do you run them on your racecars?

I have used adjustable tubular upper a-arms on stock cars before that are lightweight (3 or 4 lbs). The trade off in having easy camber/caster adjustments (steel) vs. lightweight would be a plus at the track. It can be a pain setting the alignment in the hot sun.
