Would you let someone else drive your Z?
I am sure you all will think I am crazy, but i have been teaching my girlfriend how to drive a manual in my Z. We are taking it slow, big parking lots (since I think she is more nervous about messing up my car than I am) and only into second gear a few times. Two thirty mintue lessons so far, the next one might be scary though, since we might actually be going out on some roads......

NOOOOOOO!!!! I tried to teach a g-friend to drive stick in my modded Z31 and all was well 98% of the time, but those other two percent etched horrific memories into my permanent memory.
Take the hill story: We were on her first hill. I mentioned that it would be difficult so she would have to give it a little more gas. She gave it ALOT of gas and started to burn rubber like a maniac and then freaked out and wouldnt let off the throttle! So she was TEARING it up out on that hill and after 5 seconds her first response while I was yelling at her to stop was to grab the e-brake
.. I had to replace the clutch shortly after. But, fortunately the Z33 has TCS...that woulda helped
good luck
Sorry, but this poll needed a couple of other options.
I let 3 people drive my Z. A cousin who drives a stick very well; my son, who is trying to drive a stick very well; my son-in-law, who was afraid to break the speed limit. Of course I was along for each ride. How about a choice for:
Only if I know the person and their abilities well.
Parent or child and feel compelled.

I let my buddy drive it... because I didn't want to rub it in bad. He ordered his Z before me.. and now is told he will not get it till Jan!! I jumped on an order in Sept and got in Nov. So I had to give him a pitty ride.
Now just to convince him to dump his dealer and find a z on the lot!

Not just anyone.
I let the 23-year-old son of my accountant drive it (with me in the passenger's seat).
Why? He's a race driver, with a couple of years in Formula Ford. And his dad was the one who first told me about the 350Z.
He put it through its paces in a short drive. He liked it and I learned a little something, too.

I've only had mine for about 2 months. I am not ready to let another drive my car. I know I will, just not yet. Of course, I would make an exception for my father. (The only one in my family of 5 that actually drives a stick.)
I think that if the person is responsible, then it is no problem. I also think that sports cars are little different than your typical 4 door sedans. Just an opinion.

My dentist scheduled my last appointment so that afterwards we could play with our cars...He let me drive his Boxster..I let him drive the Z...think we both have a better respect for each others cars
