How many people think painted calipers are ricey?

Of course big brake kits also look good too. When I first got my front BBK I thought about painting my rear calpers to match the front and putting decals on them. Then I decided to buy the rear kit too.

I have mixed opinion. Look good if done right with right color for wheels and body color. Seems crazy to buy a $2K BBK when the stock brakes are just as good for spirted daily driver use. But the BBKs do look nice.
I painted (powdercoated, but meh) the calipers red and love it. Objective was to give a bit of color behind the wheels (and to the car as it is CS). Personally I don't see the point in painting them dark grey as that's the color they are anyway.
There's no magic to the dingy stock dark grey caliper. It is what it is. I've seen blue and red and silver, even black and to me, they look better than stock, which is all I was going for. Mission accomplished. If you like the stock color, don't paint them. If you think your stock dingy dark grey calipers look better than my red ones, then we have a difference of opinion and we're both happy.
Ricey? I don't see it, sorry. I also changed my stock cloth seats to 2-tone leather, and removed the black off the side emblems. OoooOooOo Rice!

I personally like the color of the calipers to contrast with the car so they stand out. That is why I chose red calipers for my car. I could have gone with blue, but then they would be the same color as the car and not stand out as much. In my opinion red calipers look awesome with Daytona Blue.
It can also be an interesting conversation piece. At the last car show I was in I heard some girl ask her boyfriend, "what are those red things in the wheels?" If they were the stock color she probably wouldn't have noticed them.

I never think painted calipers are ricey.
I have a question though, for those of you who think it is ricey or kind of ricey. Does that mean that BBKs and factory Brembos, Porsche brakes and whatnot, are ricey? If your answer is yes, fine, maybe it's just not your thing. But, if you say no, please explain to me why factory painted calipers/BBKs would not be ricey, but calipers that have been painted/powdercoated would be? I'm not going to flame anyone or argue about it, I'm just curious what your thoughts are.
