I had to make a drastic evasive maneuver to avoid an oncoming vehicle. I snapped a telephone pole, deflected across the road through a fence and stopped at a large oak tree. I was fortunately able to walk away from the accident, but I'm still coughing up dust from the airbag deployment. Now, I'm in the market for a new Z. How does he Roadster handle (compared to the Coupe)?

Wow, glad your alright. I know how lucky you feel right now cause a few years ago I rolled the family Lexus RX300 when a guy failed to yeild and hit me in the side. It rolled 4 times, hit a fire hydrant and a bunch of other stuff. We walked away with just a couple bumps and bruises. The rx looked more like a convertible than an suv afterwards.
Speaking of the convertibles...I doubt the zr would be nearly as crash worthy as the z coupe. I give you credit...usually people want a bigger safer vehicle after a severe crash such as yours.

Glad you made it out okay. Sorry about the Z.
Btw, if you're not going to need those leather seats ...... i'm sure the insurance company wouldn't know if it was towed to the junk yard with a set of carbon cloth from an Enthusiast. Of course I'm sure the seat portion of the driver's side might need some cleaning.

Anyways, the post above me just got me thinking...
I don't want to sound like a dayum vulture but would you be interested in selling some parts of your Z since you'll be getting a new one or will insurance require it to be in tact? I'm interested in ALL the interior plastic pieces (trunk, rear strut, B-Pillar, rear compartments, center console, lower dash, A-Pillar, etc...). Not interested in the doors, guages, or the leather portions on the dash. Just the plastic parts. If so, please PM me.
Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words - I definitely feel lucky in retrospect. The carcass was hauled off to Lexington, KY by Copar (sp?). It was in excellent shape, the engine has around 30K and there was minimal interior damage. 75% of the body is flawless... My dealership is picking up an 04 silver Roadster (Touring) from Florida next week for me to check out. My replacement radar detector came in today (the original was snagged from the wreck site)- now I just need a Z to put it in...
