Default Outside Temperature sensor?

Does anyone have problem with the outside temperature not showing correctly? Mine is about 8-10degrees off, and I wonder if it has to do with the license plate custom mounted in the front air dam. Where is the sensor btw? What should I do? Thanks!

I've not noiced any problem with the tempature reading and I have my license plate mounted right in the middle of the grill.. I should have a manual next week and will try to find the location of the sensor. I'll let the list know..

yeah I've noticed that... it happened the other night. The car had been sitting for about an hour. it was about 59 degrees outside. When I got in the car the temp indicator showed 75 degrees. After about 5 minutes of driving it was down to where it should be.

wierd....

Mine did the same thing the other day. I got in and it said 37 degrees when I knew it was a lot colder than that. I drove about 2 miles and it was down to 26. I thought it had to do with air flow blowing on the sensor when I was moving but maybe not now. I wonder where the sensor is.

You may be right Doc.

I think it is in the front grill area. It does always seem to be a bit high when starting up, but then lowers to the correct temperature within a few minutes. Perhaps this is due to heat from the engine warming the sensor when the car is at rest, and cooling to the proper temperature once outside air is flowing again.

the sensor is desigentd to take readings with the car moving b/c og inniference from engine heat... this is the case with most cars.. it was like this wiht my CL-S, and with other cars that I heve looked at or driven. nothing out of the ordinary
