Ok, I'm confused, I read that the 05 track and anniversary editions have the raised limiter to 7100rpm but after driving in my new enthusiast (build date Jan 2005) I pushed it up and the limiter does not kick in till 7100 rpm as well....which is great but very unexpected.
Can someone shed some light on this?

might have been lucky that they misplaced a track/anniversary engine in your enthusiast. or unlucky that they misplaced just a track/anniversary ecu in it. I wouldn't push it to 7100rpm until I get it checked out by the dealer first.

couldn't it have been that they decided to up the limiter on the later 05 models?
The car definetely pulls harder than the 04 track I had. So far I figured it's because of the 17" wheels compared to the 18: on the track...
very interesting
Is there an official post by nissan on what actually changed when on the models? I mean not just the marketing stuff

if they did change the engine on the later 05 models, I'm sure it would have been widely discussed on this board by now. So far I haven't read anything here or elsewhere...but this is definitely an interesting situation. Let us know what happened when you find out.
