Talking Do I have an aftermarket clutch? just read

Weird question I know

Well I bought my 03 touring close to a year ago and I've always thought my clutch was a little too stiff. I mean your leg gets tired and cramps while driving in traffic. I remember when I was test driving other z the clutch never felt this stiff.

A couple meets ago I drove a fellow Z member ride and I swear I had trouble with it at first. Then last night I met up with another z member and we drove each others cars turns out his clutch was tons softer than mine. The first thing he asked me was if I had an aftermarket clutch, even my brother thinks I do. Now its bugging me and I want to find out if the previous owner had one put in. How could I find out?

There was a really old thread (2003) that I came upon on the forums here... people were saying that some clutches have a stiffer feel than others, despite being the same exact car.

My guess would be it's not aftermarket.

Well if you tested out the 05's their clutch is significantly softer.

The stock clutch is much stiffer than most of the aftermarkets clutches I've driven - JWT, NISMO anyway. If your Z is an '03 I'd guess the clutch is stock.
