Remember, it's illegal to watch dvds while driving, that's us installers do that. We gotta cover our own asses. If you have never done anything with stereos don't bother doing this because you'll probably f something up. Take it to your local seedy stereo shop and get it done. Just don't let them know where you live.

There are two ways to do it depending on the player. When the e-brake is pulled, the wire coming from it becomes a ground. So all you have to do is replicate that. Simply pull out the in dash, find the wire that goes to the ebrake wire and put it to the ground, don't forget to solder.

Now some dvd players require that you pull the ebrake, let it back down, then pull it up again. In the case of these you have to use a toggle switch to simulate this sequence. Pretty easy, I don't think you need a schematic and I'm not about to draw one up.

There are the new generation of in dashes that have gyros in them. You can't do anything about these.

removing the OEM H.U. is not very hard...

1) remove the bolts from your center console...
2) remove the center console
3) remove the lower dash (shifter area / climate control)
3) remove the dash surrounding the stereo
4) unbolt a gazillion bolts holding your OEM HU and youre good to go!
5) be really careful and patient when removing the OEM harness from the HU
I dont remember where the necessary screws for step 3 and 4 are, but I dont remember any tricky ones that are hard to see...

i believe this is all that's required in removing the HU...

Yeah , I've heard about grinding the wire so that it fools the DVD unit into thinking the e-brake is up ... I know it works w the Avic N1
