Default Pics of All Wheel Drive Z

Well not quite all wheel drive but definately all weather drive with a set of new Blizzak LM-22s, traction control, and antilock brakes I had no problem driving home in th 4-6" of snow we got for the drive home from work. I took off TCS and tried to drive just to see what it was like and all I did was go sideways. The car was actually very stable to drive in the snow, and I was able to accelerate a lot faster that many of the front wheel sedans on the road. For all of you who garaged your Z for the winter, it is actually not a bad car in the snow. In fact I find it easier to drive than my Saab 9-5SE even with the winter mode on. Here are the pics. With TCS on the rear end doesn't kick out even when you mash the pedal. I had a hard time throwing the car into a slide. I have the E model and it doesn't have the VDC.

5-6" of snow in the driveway, no problem. Without the blizzak's I couldn't get up the drive with 1/2" of snow and slush covering the driveway with those crapy stock all season tires.

This is exactly what i wanted to see. Im sold, im HAVE to get a 350 now.

In my other post, one of my concerns was the winter driveability. Well, you've proven it can be done. Im planning on going to the local dealer and seeing what we can work out. They probably wont give me what i need for my truck, but if they do, i'll be ordering a new 350z with the P package. If not, it'll take me a little longer to sell the truck, and i'll probably end up getting the z in the spring.

Damn you people for making me buy this car. :P

Default I hear that gorgsnorf..

My Z is not going to see one flake. No way. They throw down a lot of salt in Ma. too. I got my Ford F150 for the winter. I plan on keeping this car for a long time and I do not want one spot of rust. My dad actually owns a used cars dealership and he is going to let me put my Z in the showroom in the winter, with easy excess to my own stall to mod it. Sweet!!

This is excellent to hear. My tires and wheels should arrive at my house on Thursday of this week, put them on this weekend, and I'm ready for winter!

Tires were about $750. In 5 to 10 years there will be the 400z and I will get that one also. I wash the car regularly and that should keep the salt off it.

You have to have them on all 4 otherwise you will spin out as one set of tires will have more traction than the others. You can get away with all the tires being 225/50/17s instead of the front and the rear different sizes.

I have a SS Touring with 6smt (touring package) charcoal interior and live in SW CT. I'm thinking about getting snow tires also and would like to have them on theor own rims and with tire pressure sensors. I am waiting for a quaote, but have been tols that substitute rims for the car would cost about $750. a piece. Does this sound right. Did you also buy rimes for the snows and at what size and price range did you find and from what source?

if by substitute rims you mean stock rims, and just a second set, then yeah, that does sound reasonable. but you need thinner rims, and they dont need to be 18" either. so... a set of rims in that area should be like half the price you said; of course they wont win any awards for looks or weight, but their just a set of rims to run around in the salt for a few months with.

They aren't all season tires. They are summer only tires.
