Default 350z/G35coupe motor differences

Dont the 350z and G35coupe use the same vq35de motor?? If so, why does the G35 make slightly less hp and torque??

I think it's all exhaust/intake setup... a little more restrictive(and 1ft longer) Not that the length makes any diff.... ????

What about the differences between The G35 sedan then? Also, does anyone know what the differences between all the VQ35DE's? I'm assuming the G35 sedan, Maxima and Altima are probably similar if not identical... but what makes the Z and G35 coupe engines so much more powerful?

Same series engine doesn't necissarly mean that it's identical. The cars are all tuned with slighly different cams and variable valve timing programs in the ECU. Their bore/stroke is also listed as being slighly different. The Z has slighly less stroke to help with high RPMs. The exhaust/intake differences can also have an impact.

If the stroke is different, wouldn't displacement be different? I thought it was probably intake tuning and cams that were the primary differences in the Z and G35C vs the others. I know the intake is different based on a post here from a guy with a Maxima that was trying to get the intake from the Z to fit his car.
