Surfboard Compatability
Hey guys,
I'm a college kid looking to buy a 350z. My only problem with buying a Z as my only car is that I can't figure out a way to get my board to the beach. Any other Z Driver/Surfer have a cure for this problem? Thanks a lot.

i surf, but have yet to try and get my board on my car - its 7'6". i'm close to the beach so i think i could strap it on top and go slow to the beach - but i dont think will try it - i havent been surfing since i bought the Z.
This may give you some ideas. This was pre-Z. The kayak is 11' long. The rear rests on a custom bracket in the trailer hitch. If you install a hitch on the Z and fab a bracket to be at the height of either the roof or the open hatch. Food for thought. For me I bought a second car.
No you can't get a surfboard in the z, why would u want to? Ur going to get the car all nasty. I have a 5' 8'' round nose fish that doesn't fit without reclining but i've never tried. Nevermind my 6'3 and 6'6'' But i wouldn't screw the car up hauling surfboards with the wax getting on the seats and sand getting places it shouldn't. Even if you got racks the saltwater would drip on the paint. Also the plastic in the z scratches very easily, you would have marks from the skegs that you wouldn't be able to get out. I guess if u really had to, you could get a board sock and also bring a bottle of water to wash everything off before you packed ur board up.
