Default Body lines (styling) of the 350Z. 300ZX & 240Z ??

OK, so I can see the lines of the 300zx (z32) in the body design of the 350Z (Z33). But does anybody see any of the original 240z lines that were also supposed to have been incorporated into the design of our 350z?
I don't see it, and I once owned a 240z.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. From certain angles, I can really see the 300 but not so much the 240.

i have this problem too, but styling is a really loose term to say "if you look hard enough and use your imagination, you might be able to see some evidence of the 240..." lol...

but do think i cant some on the 240 in the 350 a little more than i can see it in the 300 - and the only arguement i can try to make for that is the where the hood meets the windshield cockpit. i think that area is really the only place where can "see/imagine" the car talking to the 240 - other than that, i agree with the OP, i see a lot more of the 300 in 350 than the 240.

I agree with Lane, it's more design license. The rear side window reminds me of the old Zs, but are not exactly the same. Also if you look at the 350Z from just the outline, you could see some similarity although not exact. I think the idea was to take the best of each generation's design and incorporate it into the new Z.

I see more 240Z than 300ZX in the 350. To my blurry eyes the car's cockpit placement and abrupt curves are more reminiscent of 240Z than the 300ZX. I guess from the side you can really see some similarities between the 300ZX and 350Z but I had to look at photos as I get a different feel in person.

Outside style of 350 is closer to the 300, inside the three gauges towards driver are reminiscent of the 240. Hp and power is near 300, value is near 240.

I think the car as a whole looks like the 240. Like...the fact it's hatchback, the long front end, placement of passenger compartment so far back on the vehicle. Long sloping headlights. I see WAY more 240 than 300 in the 350.
