Default Why you should never trust a dealer

Was at a dealership today waiting for an oil change...I was perusing the inventory of 350Zs. One was a white touring roadster (auto) w/nav..that was selling for $47k. Yup, $47k.

A closer look at the sticker - $5000 Nismo Rims, $1800 Nismo Exhaust, $500 nismo air intake. Pricey...but let me go on.

I looked closely at the car - has a stock exhaust.
Popped the hood and looked under it - stock intake.
Looked closely at the rims and noticed that on one side the front and rear rims had been mixed up..with the wrong tires on each rim!

Moral of the story is look over your car very carefully, even if you pick it up from the dealer!

Maybe they`d provide you with the parts if you confronted them? I don`t know, but sounds like a bit of false advertising to me.

The Nismo Z's I've seen all have the "Nismo Package" and it's a flat $7k addition.

Probably all those prices included the install cost. The wheels probably also included new tires since the stock tires are the wrong size.

Rest assured, some clueless dumb@ss will walk in off the street with a wad of cash and think they're getting something special. Salesmen just love an un-informed customer. My salesman on the other hand probably couldn't stand me - I knew more about the Z than he did.

My dealers first 35th Anniv. was vandalized by teens with paintball guns and pellet guns, $12K in damage.

Sad part is the buyer still bought it after it was fixed! Some people are so gullible!

Bought a xterra this weekend. It was the ES with a Fosgate, window edeging (how ever you spell that) and some extra pin striping. It MSRPed with the options a little over $27000. When my salesman came back to the table he slapped a $30000 out the door price at me. I laughed at him and told him I had already been to two other dealerships and he was not close. He left and his manager came back with a $27500 price I told him I had already seen one at $24999 (didn't tell him it was lacking a few of the options). When the manager came back he matched the price and I drove it off the lot for about $26000. The moral of the story is they will get as much out of you as they think they can. I got them to come down $4000 dollars. You just got to take it as a game and it wont frustrate you.

LMAO!!! Too Funny, StevenZ.

Yep, those dealers hate buyers who are smarter than their salesmen...and they hate potential customers saying "NO", standing up and walking out. Great negotiating tactic for anyone who wants to use it. hehehe...

Uhm no, had a dumbass kid co-worker who bought a used 03 Mustang V-6, 30K miles, and after all said and done, he was paying $30K and the sad part is, he went out and got a 22% loan of $2K for a downpayment.

Suckers are truly born every minute.

BTW his financing was 14% interest for 72 months. payments $435 a month and thats not including $2500 a year insurance.

He traded in his 02 Geo Tracker (He says Chev, whatever. He says they should have high resale value since it does not have 4WD, yeah okay, LOL!) anyway he owed 14K, the dealer gave him $8K, and thats why his V-6 was so expensive.

Basically the poor guy eats once a day well so he says!

About the Nismo parts and other's being so expensive, I have had the same experience at the dealer I went too. I asked the dealer, What year and millage could I get if I am looking to spend around $26,000. He replied a 03 with 20,000-30,000 miles base model, with nismo this and that (I tuned him out at this point). I just said O.K. and thought in the back of my mind he gets this car in on trade and does about $2,000 worth of work but charge $6,000. For about $29,000 I can get an 05 Enthusiast. I am young, but no dumby and will keep saving my money and NOT go back to that dealership.

I never went to the dealer except for the day when I picked up my car. Got my performance for 30Gs with whole lot of options. Didn't pay a cent over invoice. I guess doing homework pays off.

i just basically did the same thing, only for a new 05 pathfinder SE with everything except leather and sunroof for my wife. he first came from the desk with a price BEFORE TT for 35999 + 5000 down. i just smiled and told him i would pay 27000 OTD. he never came back, instead they sent another salesman who was actually the guy i bought my Z from back in Feb. it took him 2 trips to the desk and he came back and shook my hand and said we had a deal. within 10 minutes they dropped a total of about 16200. like everyone has said, there are some uninformed folks who actually fall for this sh**.

Another reason not to trust dealers. I called today to purchase the 05 le mans sunset. They say its at a nearby dealer and will be ready by the time i get in at 5. So I rush down there to pick up the new car. Turns out the car is not even in this state and want to charge me $500 for shipping to get it here. To make a long story short I'm still driving my civic right now and still searching for a bloody le mans sunset 350 . Although I'm thinking of switching to the Pikes Peak White

You mean some of you guys actually go to a dealer when you buy a car?

How gauche!

Much better just to have it driven to your frontdoor.
