Default reflash / reset ECU

I've read a few post on these two things and I'm a bit confused... is a ECU reflash and a ECU reset the same thing?

How come an ECU reflash cost like $600 from technosquare when you can reset it by unplugging the battery for 24 hours?

ECU Reflash is when you change the factory settings to compliment your modifications plus raising your rev limiter, and speed cut off. This usually requires you to remove the ECU and send it in to be done.

ECU Reset is when you reset your ECU to factory settings. For instance if you get a warnig light or your car is not running right, you may want to reset your ECU. You can do this yourself. I hope that helps....db

Ah, makes sense now. Thank you.

Sucks that the reflash is big bucks.

BTW: how will the company know what mods you have to reflash it to the specs you have?

I've never done it, But I'm sure you just let them know what kind of mod's you has and they would set it accordingly, and I agree it does cost big bucks. I really thinking about doing
