Default Japanese Junk?

OK, I just got home from my local nissan dealer, and once again test drove the 05' Z. I confirmed my belief that it has an awesome interior. I love how the gauges are set up, and that you can see 0-60 times, outside temp., etc. My question is: How reliable is the car. It looks to be well put together, inside and out. Are there serious issues I should be aware of? Are Japanese cars known for their quality? Are any of the current problems going to be fixed for the 06' model year. I'm sure it must be a pretty reliable car for everyone here to own one. Otherwise you would have bought something else right? So is it well-designed or simply "Japanese Junk ?

Exactly, so why do people seem to have problems with tire threads, interior problems, etc?

Congrats on enjoying your test drive.
Buy what you want to buy.

All cars have thier problems.
How many problems depends on what kind of car you get?

However if you read further into the threads you would of read that even though a lot of 03 owners had the feather issues most didn't.
An ever smaller percentage of 2004 models have it. 2004.5 models is virtually extinct, and I havent heard of an 05 model haveing the issues.

If you think our interior is bad and has problems go sit in a corvette and tell me what you think of its interior.

You ask is the car well designed lets see...
287-300HP out of a v6?
~ 22- 25 MPG from that powerful V6
.29 drag coefficent.
116 ft* 70-0 stopping distance
107 ft* with brembo brakes
*(I remeber this is close but not 100% someone dbl check please)
all AL engine, suspension, and a carbon fiber driveshaft.
.94g on the skid pad.

Thats just a little.
If you consider this japaneese junk then go test drive something else..

most american cars wish that they could have the few problems that the z (or other japanese cars) has.

I used to by American cars only but I give up. The last two were new. A 97 Seville and a 98 Chevy S10 ZR2 pickup.

Both were unbelievable CRRRAAAAAP.

Jimmy I think you should wait for the 2006, they will be out in a few months! It's nicer.

Yeah, not like half of the Mustang's V8's were found to have a defect from the factory.... oh... right, that DID happen.

Not sure where you have been for the last 20 years or so but japanese cars have a much higher reliability rating than American or European vehicles.

Eventhough the car has some common problems, My car came out to be a pretty good one, I havent had any problems with it, I just got the feathering at around 16,000 miles and they replaced the tires for me free. The rest of the car flaw less.

Even if they would not give me free front tires there are always not so ewxpensive solutions to solve the problem.

lets just say that the japanese are 10 years advanced in technology than americans so that says something the z by far is sort of junk when you can match the power of a LT1 Z28 Camaro in a V6 what is junk about that? and i know that the 350 would have have alot less problems

To what car, or cars, are you comparing the Z interior? Mercedes? BMW? Audi? I don't know a single Z owner that is dissatisfied with the overall interior.

I have been complimented on how awesome the perforated leather seats are, nice wrap-around feel, heated, power-adjustable and comfy for long distances. The DVD-NAV has a motorized lid that opens and closes automatially with the turn of the key. The 7-speaker 6-disc in-dash CD stereo is no slouch. The tilt dash is a true innovation. The triple guage cluster on the center dash is one of a kind. My interior is totally black, from carpet to dash and upholstery, for a classy look. The programmable rear-view mirror opens garages and security gates and has auto day-night function. The power windows are remote-controlled with the keyfob. The steering wheel is fat and leather-wrapped as is the stock shift ****.

If you still think the interior is eye-rollingly good, then why bother to continue considering the Z?

The Z is a great car. Don't let the negative posts/issues get to you. Keep in mind that its easier for people to post when they need to vent about bad issues and instead of when everything is great *majority* people won't post at all. So simply going from what you hear on forums in my opinion is kinda biased. I love my Z even through a few issues which the dealership was happy to fix for me.
