This is an interesting question. Remember Porsche was selling 944's for $30K+ 15 years ago. This was a four banger runningf 0-60 in the 6's. Now in the 21'st century the Boxster is selling for $50K+. If Porsche was selling the Z instead of Nissan no doubt it would also be in the $50's for a top model touring/track.

But with porsche or ferrari you are paying for more than a car, and you get exclucivisity as well. Porsche sells about 20,000 cars a year world wide, Ferrari only about 2,000.

So you also have to throw this into the mix. The pre-orders are 7,500 cars, what if that was the entire 2003 run? Think how much the dealers could mark them up.

I would be willing to pay about $5,000 more I think it would still be a fair deal. My Track would be around $40K. Any more than that and the Z06 or M3 will start to come into the picture.

4 Little letters. MSRP. I won't pay more, and I don't really want to pay that. I know, I know. Lot's of people will pay more than that. With all due respect, the people saying that are the reason they may have to do so.

I have only two things going for me. 1) I'm paying cash. 2) I'm willing to wait. I don't know how much the first one will help, but I know the second one will.
