Default HELP ON FIXING UP A BLACK 350Z~~please help~

yea im new to this whole thing.
I have a black 350z 05 touring AT and I dont want to look like a poser with racy style look with a AT. i bought the car purposly so that I could just make it look nice stylish style. I dont like the hassle of manual and the vehicle is more for the ladies and my gf o.O

anyways I was wondering to make it look sleek and stylish what kind of modifications I should do for my car. correct me on these things guys..

1)black polished look 19" rims
2)brembo brakes(red)
3)tint
4)smoked out tail and front bumper lights(should i go clear?)
5)smoked tailight and front headlight(smoked)

lights wise my biggest concern is if smoked everything will look good on a black Z or clear ones.

and performance wise what kind of things should I get?

I was thinking nismo sway bar/exhaust/cold air intake.

thanks for the help in advance

I don't know man. It's gonna come down to everyone's opinion and you're probably gonna get torn apart on this thread for wanting to "fix up" an auto. I personally think that lowering the car is a great looking addition and it's functional. The wheels and brakes will be nice. I don't know about the smoked lights. I like the smoked tail lights but not the headlights. I added rectangular driving lights in the slots in my "grill." and I think they look nice. I went with hood spacers also because they are very functional and I think they give a more aggressive look. Just be ready for everyone to tell you that your hood is popped, . I also have a Motordyne Plenum spacer and a JWT popcharger which make the car sound great and probably gave me about 10 whp bump. Other than that, use your imagination...you've got to be happy with the car. With an auto it may not be worth it to do a whole bunch of power adding things if you are more concerned about looks.

1)19" rims are good....black ones aren't, definitely go deep dish
2)Just paint your current calipers red and get new rotors....no need in buying big brake kit if you aren't going the performance route
3)Tint....for sure, 5% tint so you can't see up in my windows
4)Never seen smoked bumper lights but the clear ones look good
5)I don't think the smoked ones add that much to the car...they look good but not a big deal

I wouldn't do any performance mods unless you are going to go big. If you have to get something, intake and exhaust are easiest and you can install yourself. You are going to want to do your suspension if you are going up in wheel size any way. The Tien kit is ideal but if performance is not your game then a simple strut/spring combo will do fine....no more than one inch drop though unless you want to buy camber kits. I personally think the Nismo complete body kit is as about as nice as it gets. I would concentrate on doing more to the plain interior. You need a sound system, maybe in dash flip screen head unit. Custom leather or race seats look good.

Yeah, that's exactly what I wanted. That's why I haven't done anything to the exhaust. If your are gonna do something to the exhaust ask these guys on the forums or search and I"m sure you can find sound clips somewhere of all the different ones. With the popcharger it just allows the engine to suck air faster and it makes an awesome pssst sound when you give it throttle. The plenum spacer basically opens up the throat of the Z and makes it more throaty sounding in my opinion. It basically makes it sound the same but louder at wide open throttle. Noticable difference performance wise also for relatively cheap.

They aren't? You need your eyes checked.

To the original poster, tint's nice. Especially in AZ. Here, you cant live without it. Keep your tail lights and headlights stock. Don't ruin a 30 thousand dollar car with some stupid vinyl, and the same goes for your brake calipers, don't ruin a beautiful and expensive car with spray paint. Especially red. When I go FI I'll probably get a big brake kit. It's the only way to go with brakes. Cross drilled and slotted rotors don't do a damn thing other than make it more difficult to get your rotors turned. They do look cool though, right.

I think black rims can be good if they look right on the car. Case and point ^^^^

I have 35% tint all around and I wish I had gone darker. I think 20% is perfect for a black Z.

The Nismo bodykit is nice but keep in mind that on a black Z it's more difficult to make out the kit because of the color/shadows.

Nismo exhaust sounds just like stock but a bit deeper and meaner when you give it some gas. A nice respectable choice IMO.

I have 20/20 vision and those black rims don't look good. It's all about personal preference..

Deep roar might be injen exhaust. Loud deep roar would be injen exhaust with test pipes.
Heres my Z with injen exhaust and test pipes.

You're right, zmotion, it's all about preference. I have 20/20 also (although at my age it's 20/20 CORRECTED). But if the guy likes the rims, which I happen to like also, (maybe not for my ZR), then it's all ok w/ me. I think they look pretty good for the look he's trying to achieve.
Actually, I've been thinking of powdercoating my RPO3's in a light/dark combo--not black/chrome-- but maybe billet/gunmetal. Still thinking about it. I'm more performance-oriented, and there are still a few mods my wife will allow.

Cool

Front chin spoiler and rear spoiler would be nice. States vary on max tint % and covering tail lights. Example N.C. max tint is 35 %. I was told that Nissan has a 3% tint already in their glass. No blue lights behind you and enjoy.

Your car has evolved very well. I am not a fan of the orville and wilbur wright wings, but it looks hot on your car.

By far the nastiest pic was when you had the black rims.....yuck!

Looking sweet now though.....

I tend to agree. IMO Gunmetal is a better choice if you want to go dark. Bronze looks SICK on a white, black or CS Z. Black rims look tight on black Audi A4s.

BTW, the new music video for the new Herbie the Lovebug Movie, sung by Lindsay Lohan, prominently features a CS 350Z with black rims. Sorry to say, you will have to flip to the Disney Channel in order to catch this video. Maybe VH-1.

If you're just dressin to impress the ladies, more power to ya. But don't you know? It's not what you RIDE, it's how you ROLL.

1) My first gem of advice is to forget about the performance parts. The ladies don't care about what they can't feel, see and hear. They will not notice additional few horsepower. So save the money on CAI, sway bars, suspension, headers, etc. In fact, just don't touch the engine. Use that cash for flash and hotels.

2) Shiny things are all-time throughout history proven to impress the ladies. Your first impression is the rims. Shiny rims catch their eyes. But don't go too bling, because you have a Z not a G. Stay away from black, gunmetal, bronze rims. Get shiny-a## chrome deep dish rims. That's why Knights had shining armor. Girls don't dream about Knights in black armor.

3) If you got the right rims, you won't need Brembos or big brake kits or whatever. These cost thousands of dollars and will impress more guys than girls. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I don't think you swing that way. Again, save that cash for flash and hotels.

4) Exhaust is optional. A loud, brash note that you can control with the throttle will remind the ladies that this is a FAST and powerful machine. However, if you don't get an exhaust, what she does not hear will not hurt her. Plus, an exhaust will make up for the fact that you drive an AUTOMATIC.

5) Flashing stereo is extremely important. If you don't have the OEM NAV, then you need to buy an even flashier NAV system that plays DVDs and automatically folds away into the stereo. Make sure it sounds good, and remember, that does not mean it has to be horribly loud.

6) Don't mess up your ride with a stiff suspension. Some girls dig it and some even get off to it, but you are best off without it because a lot of girls will not like it. Besides, you don't want your passenger seat to get wet and smelly if you get the type of girl that loves a stiff ride.

I'm just trying to help you out, Playboy. You said you wanted a flashy ride to pick up girls in, so save all those thousands of dollars that I told you to save and put it in a fancy, boisterous, fat money clip to tease the girls with. Good luck and buy lots of condos.

Haha, yeah I know. Telling someone their opinion is wrong is just illogical. I feel the same way about any chrome rims. They make me wanna puke.

Thanks man. I'm on the NW side too. Cortaro and I-10 area. I'll wave if I see you. Also I work at the Circuit City on wetmore installing stereos. Swing by around the back and say what's up if you ever feel like it. I have yet to meet any other 350Z owners here in town.

Black on Black is getting played out, even tho i still like it, its not as original as it used to be. SO that choice is yours.

I personally like a kit, but if you lower your car, it will look badass without putting on a kit.

Big Break Kits are nice, i would just pick up a front 13 or 14" kit, like a stoptech or something, no need for a 4 wheel kit if your not tracking, but you might want some bigger breaks to stop those bigger rims.

Exhaust is good too.
