Great post Abyss... but I think what you stumbled across was a convertible test in progress. The car third in, if I am not mistaken, is the 2002 Lexus SC 430. i attached an image below of it. The other cars are all convertibles as well, so this is why I think it's the Lexus.
Damn, that'd been sweet.

My first thought was also a Lex SC430 (ooh, that baby is one of my favorites, hope to get it within a couple of years or so). From far away, an SC430 and 350Z look very similar in the ***. But that is most likely an SC430 competing with other luxury cars, Bimmers, Benz, etc., in the line up.
I could name all of those (from left to right): Boxster; Golf GTI; Benz S-class; SC430; Bimmer 3-series convertible; and Jag XJK convertible.

Attached is a link to a Ventura County newspaper with a short article about the testing that Motor Trend does at Camarillo Airport. Nothing about 350z's though.

yeah, Its a lockheed. I used to live about 5 miles from that airport when I was stationed at Pt. Mugu. Used to see the magazines photographing alot in that area. They also have an Electronics warfare version of that plane there, but I can't remember the designator for it. That in itself is very embarrassing to me, because I flew electronics warfare in the Navy.
