Default in 6-10(or more) years from now...

where do you think the CURRENT gen. 350Z will be at? Will it be a car that people are going to be looking for such as the S13/14? Will it be just another car? Do you think it will have a lot of value IF it is changed to something not so B.E.A utiful?... discuss please

S13/14 were not really that popular say 5 years ago...the only reason they are now is because of the whole drift craze and how with a simple SR20DET engine swap, you can have mad power in a fairly cheap and fun car to mess around with. I don't see the 350Z as desireable 6-10 years from now...heck look at teh Z32 (300ZX)...it was twin turbo and faster than the current Z but for some odd reason it was never popular

The Z32's got expensive back in the day. I see the 350Z still being desireable down the road, perhaps in the way that the 3rd gen RX7 is desireable, mainly because of it's potential and perhaps more importantly, classic looks. Plus the 350 represents a come back of a legend in motorsports so that should mean something down the road.

I'm talking about the Z32 right now in today's market. Prices have gone down and they make for awesome cars but are not as desireable as an RX-7 or Supra. Supra TT's are desireable because of their extremely well built engine and ultra high potential. And the 3rd gen RX-7 (FD3S) is desireable because they are unique with their rotary engines (super fast although extremely problematic), ultra light chassis, awesome handling, timeless design that still attracts much attention today (I'm actually considering buying one at the moment), and rarity being offered in the US only from 1993-1995. I can hardly say that the 350Z is going to be a rare car because at least here in California you see 4-5 of them while out driving everyday. Sure the 350Z will be a great buy later on 6-10 years from now, heck it's a great buy even rght now brand new, but I don't see it as desireable as how an RX-7 or MKIV Supra or even an NSX is right now...at least not in that sense. Maybe things will change down the road who knows.

I know one way that'll make our cars more desireable down the line, if Nissan's next gen of Z turns out to be fugly! Just like how the RX-7 is more desireable because of how crap the RX-8 is.

well the RX-7 was already desireable prior to the RX-8 but I agree that many RX-7 owners are clinging to their rides even more because the "potential RX-7 replacement (aka RX-8)" didn't live up to expectations. If and when they release the 4th gen RX-7 can affect the desireable level of the 3rd gen RX-7 just how you said the next Z after this one will affect it. If it's ugly, everyone's not going to want to give up their current Z's but if it's hot, most might make the trade and then the 350Z will be an inexpensive good buy for used sports car
