Having said that, I agree with others. Nissan can build whatever the hell the want to build but I would see zero appeal in an AWD 350Z. In fact they only way they could convince me to buy the AWD version (if they made both) would be to sell the AWD for $10K LESS than the RWD. Then it would become a tough choice. Otherwise RWD all the way! The car is fun because it can oversteer, AWD would just turn it into the Z32 - an overweight, understeering sports touring car. Not what I personally want.

I think the Z should remain RWD, but I have no problem with the idea of a G35 coupe in AWD (GT-R or something).
But, only if it's an optional model, not all of them.
They could easily take the engine and tranny out of the FX45 and drop it into the G35 coupe (same platform), then increase the power a bit, and POOF!!!
An AWD v8, 400hp GT-R.
Sounds good to me!

I don't know if someone already made this point. But why would nissan make Z awd. There would be no point for a Skyline. (their upcomming vehicle)
Also ever other z starting in the 70's has been rwd.

Of course the AWD would add more parts to break, such as the transfer case (big problem with VR4's and Stealth TT's). Also, you will be called pigs just like us 3s owners And the driveline loss is incredible, but hey to each his own.

If you want AWD, buy a FX35! It has ATTESA-ETS (Or at least a system that has all of the characteristics of ATTESA-ETS) and it's built atop the same FM platform as the 350Z is.
Nissan dosen't sell the AWD version because it knows that people buy this thing for a "play" car, not something to haul stuff around. And besides, you can't really drive one except in californian weather anyway.

The ATTESA-ETS AWD system directs up to 50% of the torque to the front wheels. The reason you see RH9 and the famous ExViTermini skylines lighting up all four is because there's so much power, and the front wheels are taking only 50%. There's also an ExViTermini video with a Skyline doing a skidpad with AWD disabled and enabled. Go watch it!
But you know what? This gives the Skyline an advantage, not only in launch, over RWD cars. You can program ATTESA-ETS to spin the rear wheels until the turbos hit full boost, THEN direct power to the frint!

If you want to see how Skylines etc smoke their tires.
Just one request, please select one of the other download sites, not mine.
The black car that the guy dives in through the window of is definitely Skyline GTR, alot of the others are GTR's too, but that black one is sure smoking !
