I regret not buying the Nismo Edition 350z.
I regret doing a GTM twin turbo install. Not because the kit failed but I just don't like those crazy custom kits. I like OEM.
Indeed! I bought a used 350z at a great price - and I'm having fun restoring the few minor cosmetic isuses back to OEM (i.e. repainted bumper, OEM wheels restored, replacing a couple interior panels). Now I have an '07 350 that looks like it just rolled off the showroom for. Nissan did such a good job that I like the stock 350z, even without a spoiler or anything.

I know this is responding to an ancient post, but it seems to just be cheaper to get your bumper repainted every 2 years than it is to get a clearbra. Make buddies with somebody who does this as a job like I did and you can get it done for less than $100 and it will look great. Even the dealership was only going to charge me $170 for it. Apparentley once the paint fades under the clearbra you have to get a new bumper since that stuff doesnt come off.

One thing that I regret installing on my HR was the high flow cats from Stillen. I was told by them that there would be no rasp at all with these. From 3k RPM to about 4k RPM, there was a little rasp. Now i have resonated ART test pipes, they sound better and have less rasp than stillen high-flow cats.

Isn't inspection going to be a problem with test pipes?

Every state/county has different emissions testing. Most newer vehicles just need to pass visual inspection with no check engine codes. When I renewed, they just plug in a OBDII scanner, checked for codes and I passed. No tailpipe sniffer, they never got underneath the car to look for cats.

+1

And not to mention some states don't have any emissions testing... I'm down here in Florida and they don't check anything. Probably because half of the cars on the road wouldn't pass.

After a couple of months, I am starting to regret getting my Varrestoen wheels. I still think they look great, but I wish I would have spent the extra money up front. Im going to start making other mods, and I just feel that having these wheels kind of take away from it.

Yeah, I fear the time is coming when I have to get my Z smogged. I'm in CA, so laws are strict. I guess I have till 2014 to figure out what I'm going to do. Probably register the car in TX or MO under my friend's address.

Without a doubt. A carbon fiber roof overlay was the worst mod I ever did.

I tell people all the time... Save till you can afford a non-replica/fake wheel.
