Thanks Jay.

Note that the TRAILER is playing at these theatres, not the full movie that will be on the DVD.

In late January, I'll also have some dvd's to give away. More on that later when I get the dvd's and I know what I have to play with. Not sure how or what you'll need to do to win one, but it'll be interesting for sure.

You mean Nissan is actually charging for these? I think I will get a free one from somewhere. Jay, how bout it? I think I deserve one (or at least the Middle Tennessee Z Club needs one) for bringing our exclusive back in July. Oh well everyone knows I will buy it if I have to!!!

I will be very disappointed if Nissan is indeed going to charge for the DVD!!

Come on, it is after all another advertisement of the new Z! Wouldn’t it be better if more people saw/own the video??!!

They should really learn how BMW was successful in publicize their "the Hire" series! You can request for the DVD for free (however, you do need to pay S&H) or watch/download it from their web site 24/7 for free!!

I agree. If Nissan doesn't post the movie for download and/or provide it for free (minus shipping and Handling) they aren't very bright are they? My guess is they will after the initial release.

yes, that's exactly my point!

not that i can't afford to buy a DVD, but i just thought by doing this (charging for the DVD) it is actually against the whole idea of advertisement!

because no matter how much money Nissan invested in producing such video, it is still after all a advertisement. a very very cool one anyway

Default 'The Run' mentioned on CNN - well kindof

I was watching CNN the other night, and the headlines ticker tape at the bottom said this : "It had to happen-Nissan hires FX wiz to shoot new Z film-The Run"
Also, BMW is putting their Hire films on Tivo. I watched the Z4 film the other night and that is one sweet car. It was 5 minutes of stunt driving with a story line. Nice.
Nissan should do something like that. Then I'd always have it on my Tivo! And I can try to download it to my PC and post it here for you guys.

I just got a letter from Nissan in the mail saying all pre-orders will receive a special DVD in late January of 2003. My bet is that it is "The Run".

Default Happy about a $7 000 DVD?

I also got a letter from Nissan dated 6 December 2002. It also offered or announced the DVD video.

BUT what was more important to me, it also enounced a reduction of braking reserves of about 40 to 50% by stating that the 350Z has single piston calipers rather than the dual piston calipers as stated on the Monroney label.

Noticed I said reserved braking, that is because the dual piston or Brembo brakes may not reduce overall stopping distance (braking capacity) but larger brakes and firm stronger calipers increase the braking systems ability to dissipate heat (a.k.a. reserves).

I made a contract with Nissan and the dealer for 350Z as described on the Monroney sticker (window sticker with "dual piston calipers"), how would Nissan and the dealer handle me coming back to them and changing that contract deducting $7 000 from the agreed price!

The $7 000 is about the list price for upgrading the 350Z brakes to equivalent or better of "dual piston calipers".

Am I happy about a $7 000 DVD?... would you?
