lol, now that's a sad story!

I scraped the side of my car on my garage once while trying to park when my roommate was parked too far over. I was pretty mad but i took it to a body shop and they cleaned it up. lucky for me it was just paint from my garage no dents or anything.

Saddly these stories are great... Mines not to different then most...

Fist time with the Z at a friends house, I start driving out of his driveway and realize I better back out of it. So I turn around and back out over the curb(opposite of most curbs). Get to the gas station, come back, leave again later, and thought, well hell I can just drive it out no need to back it out. Yep 2 inch crack in my front bumper... freaking sweet. I will never question my self, then change my mind ever again.

Default ebrake mistake

went to pick up a friend and parked it on what appeared to be a level area in front of the apartment. Wiped on the ebrake......b/c it was summer in texas and I wanted to keep the car cool....I left her running. Ran to the door, get one knock and I hear this horrendous crash. Casually look toward my car thinking that couldn't be my brand new car........where the hell did it go.

the ebrake had failed, and the car rolled down the apartment complex parking lot hill and through a metal fence. Narrowly missing a nice BMW....whew. A guy was standing by....and he said...I saw it start to roll and then. I'm like what...like try to stop it, or get inside and hit the brake.

Last week....a drunkard backed into me in a parking lot. Didn't even look. I was driving past...all I see are reverse lights and smoke out of the exhaust. Didnt have time to swerve, speed up or honk.......boom. Well, at least he was honorable about his folly and is paying for it.

Should I start about the high school kid who was speeding in his Jeep Cherokee during a rainstorm and rearended me at the light.......

I thought you loved me Z......

Heh, I once saw a guy beach his vette doing that. He was, in fact, running from the police! It's amazing he managed to avoid the police as long as he did because he was weaving around 3 lanes of stopped rush hour traffic! After flying past in the opposite direction (with police in hot-pursuit), he U-turned and came up from behind me. After passing me and several others, he found a hole from the right lane to the left lane, where he attempted to jump the median and make another U-turn. After grounding the vette on the median, he exited the car and took off on foot... I doubt he got very far.

Default Obvious reverse

well all my life i have always had nice cars and my friends do as well... i go to meet up with them for some dinner the day i got my Z.... i ended up parking facing a wall.... and when we left i was suppose to lead the way to my friends house that we were going to.... and couldn't figure out how to get it in reverse... im sure alot of Z owners had this problem..

Another time in my Eclipse, my junior year in HS i was backing out and had my system blasting... my seat was way too far up cause my friend put her backpack in the back seat... so i lifted the lever to scoot it back and i was on a speedbump so it rolled all the way back before i could react and my foot came off the clutch and it stalled out in front of the whole school... im pretty well known for having fast cars and driving them agressivly and streetracing.. then i gradded in 05 (this year) and still held the title for the fastest car from my freshmen year till my senior grad day..

Evolution of cars through HS---> 240Z V8 dropped 72', Eclipse Spyder turbo 01', M3 02', SRT4 stage 2 with 346hp 05', 350Z modded for 315hp

Once in my Ford F150 I tried to adjust the bench seat while driving. It is NOT a electric type, but rather a lever that you move. Once you move the lever, you can slide the bench seat on its track.

Well, I tried this while I was moving......and the seat lurched forward jamming my foot against the brake peddle. (It could have been just as easily the gas peddle).

My truck screeched to a halt, with the poor folks behind me getting very pissed.

I wonder how many accidents have resulted from this exact same mistake.

Wheel rash at the Jack-in-the-Box drive up window - about an inches worth on the front driver's side ... nobody sees it but me. I'm use to my SUV where I just climb over little four inch curbs.

I figure a couple more rashes and it's Volks.

First day out in the new Roadster..........75 miles on the car, 90 degrees... sunny.... top down (you get the picture) and trying to figure out how to use the Nav controls. Two seconds later the right front wheel slams into the curb cracking the rim.

I had to order a new rim and have the tire remounted for $850.00 installed....what a stupid move!

I haven't done anything stupid in my Z yet other than shutting the trunk on an upright carton of kitty litter that was too tall. Those trunks are too darn small! You have to be very creative if you take it to go grocery shopping.

When I was in high school, I backed into a parking space, and when I was leaving, I went into reverse instead of forward and I hopped over a curb in my 80' Chevy Malibu. Needless to say, I ripped out my oil pan.

The first hour I had my Z I brought it home and parked in the driveway. Now this was my second Z, and I was well aware of the front-end clearence, you have to come up the side of my driveway otherwise you scrape. Not thinking, I tossed my buddy the keys so he could take it for a spin around the block. About 30 seconds later i hear the worst SSSCCCCCRRRRAAAAAAAPPPPPEEEEEEEEE sound as he backs out of the driveway. Horrific sound, all I could do was watch from my driveway as that sound pierced through my very being.

It turns out that all he really scraped was that chin-spoiler thing under the bumper. 2 weeks later as I'm installing my sway bars I notice that the dealer had put a nice thick clear plastic tape over it. Pealed back the tape, good as new....no harm no foul.

Also someone here posted that they were looking at the car next to them as a guide, and slammed into the curb because he didn't realize that the car was parked with it's tires touching the curb. I've done this in other cars.....may I recommend using the REFLECTION OF THE CURB IN THE CAR NEXT TO YOU rather than the actual car.

I Had Just Bought My '05 350zr And On The Third Day, I Went To Run Some Errands. Well, I Figured That Since I Was Turning So Many Heads At The Local Circuit City, I Would Back It Up, As To Show Off My New Ride. As I Was Backing Up, I Noticed A Bunch Of People Turning Their Heads..i Figured, Wow! I Am Getting A Lot Of Attention Until My Car Wouldnt Back Up Any Further. I Figured That I Was Out Of Gear (getting Used To The Reverse And All), So I Gassed It A Little, To No Resolve..i Was Stuck In One Place. As More And More People Turned Their Heads And Started Pointing, I Noticed The Attention I Was Getting Was Not Because Of My Car- It Was Because I Had Slowly Backed Into A Concrete Wall, And The Wall Was Stopping Me From Moving Anywhere. When I Got Out To Assess The Damage, It Was A Minor Scuff On The Rear Driver Side...man, I Was Pissed!

To Make Things Worse, I Got 19"/ 3" Lip Rims On My Car 2 Weeks Later...scratched Them In Front Of A Bank Of America...damn Curbs!

I Was Able To Touch Up The Scuffs On The Driver Side (from The Concrete Wall)- Enough Where You Wouldnt Be Able To Tell I Backed Into A Wall.

I Was Able To Sand Down And Polish My Curb Rash!

Talk About A Double Whammy!
