Post Is my Z that smart?

Not sure what topic this falls under....
Back when I first got my Z I read everything I could about it, and that the stock ECU has weight sensors and will adjust power accordingly to full cargo, less cargo, full tank, empty tank, you get the idea. Anywho the reason of this post is, recently I just put in 20" chrome wheels, significantly heavier than the stock 17"s. I knew I was going to feel a loss of power, and the butt dyno proved to be right could definitly feel the car was heavier. Now almost 2 weeks later I dont feel it anymore, and I didnt get used to it. Car doesnt feel as heavy, and accelarates almost the same as before. Also if you check the sig I have the TS reflash, done way before the rims. Did my car learn and adjust, anyone else experience this? I know this sounds ludacris but I have had this car almost 3 years and I know how my car feels inside and out.

If the ECU could just tune itself for more power if it thinks there is more weight, why wouldn't someone just trick said sensor?

Yea thought I would throw that ludacris comment in there, but I thought I was losing my mind. But people would agree with me if they drove day one after rims and today, it just feels different. Figured this was the best place to ask, if not at a minumum for the humor purposes. About tricking it, I gues that would have to be done during the programming of the reflash.

I seriously think that an ECU can adjust to things because after I put on my popcharger and my plenum spacer I had the engine dying problem after hard revs and then going into neutral and after a few days with it on it stopped dying. I don't think it's sensors or that the car's learning or anything, just that the ECU maybe gets used to different readings or different readings are within the original parameters but at first the car registers them as bad because they're different but later accepts them? I don't know but I've noticed it too.

Weight sensors? Where exactly would these be located? I've never once heard of these.

I dont think actual sensors but I know I read somewhere the car can sense more passenger cargo weight and adjust accordingly

i dont know, man... its good that they r not spinners ;-)

but chrome, imo, is getting old, and waaay overused, no originality..

chrome 20" on a Z? you like your car looking like an SUV?

black 20"s with polished lip look kinda cool on a Z, but still way too big for such a small car, makes it look unproportional.

but i mean, its your car and you like the wheels on it... who cares what I say =)

even if the car had a weight sensor i would expect it to decrease performance if it noticed a lot of extra weight since everything about the car gets worse when you increase the weight. like the braking takes longer, the handling gets worse. i doubt they would make the ecu compensate for performance over safety. but i really doubt that it compensates for weight in any way.

i have stock 18"s....hehe....still...

its just at this time, with appartment/utilities bills, school bills, car... i find it unreasonable to buy an expensive set of volks (i really want to, tho)

but i found some nice Ruff Racing rims for 600 buck for 4...and they look gewwwdd =))) staggered, black with polished lip...mmm...

does anybody have those?
