I turned off my VDC and nearly killed myself taking a turn. I ended up doing a 360 then going backwards crossing the concrete and grass median and ending up on the opposite side of the road with on comming traffic braking for their lives. Yeah... true story !!

Performance driving the Z with VDC off is like playing with a rabid dog. It just snaps one day and it's over. Seriously

Wife wasn't happy.

Respect (for VDC)

abs is also so you dont slide while your breaking if you dont kow what your doing, we all know static friction is greater than kinetic friction, basic physics.

I love the VDC system. I turn it off on occasion but like to leave it on during canyon runs. You never know when you'll hit a patch of wet pavement on a blind turn, etc. It's saved me a few times already...

I find VDC a bit intrusive for normal driving. I turn it off every time I get in the car unless it's raining. I love it in the rain, though.

Just keep in mind VDC is not an all saving device, yeah it helps, but only to a point, its not idiot proof. I've seen quite a few posts where people have spun/cracked up their cars with VDC and TCS on etc..

I have a Touring 6spd with VDC and it has only interfered once when I was hanging out the backend on a corkscrew I'm very familiar with. It has also saved me once (though it cannot fix all lapses in safe driving judgement). I was doing way over the limit (110N Pasadena, CA for the locals) and came up on a cop. Hit the brakes hard enough to have spun my previous TransAm ('95, no stability or traction) but the VDC on the Z kicked in and after a short wiggle I continued driving, then at a cool 65mph.
