I'm going to tint my amber strips this weekend actually. There are alot of D.I.Y. instructions on this forum of how to open your headlights (by heat gun or oven). You'll also find info on how to paint your headlight too if that's what your looking to do.

Good luck with your idea!

I just had my whole headlight done black...reflectors and all.

Everything BUT the low beam housing (the lens and around it.) My shop refused to paint that, and I'm in the process of finding a way to paint that without it melting. If I can't find a way, I'm opening the f'er my self and spray painting it with 1500 degree black grill paint.

Sorry, no pics yet.

I wouldn't mind painting my housing black since I have a SB Z, but I'm not the best paint man out there. Last thing I want to do is mess up the housing or have the paint run after its put back together.

Kudos to those brave enough to paint their housings. BTW Cat, your headlights are bada**!

Not with the aftermarket HID's I bought.
They don't use reflector's like the stock bulbs. They are made to project all light forward.
