update on mine: I just filled up from driving about 30 miles with the empty light on tonight and it took about 14.5 gallons and the gauge needly barely went past 3/4 full and the distance til empty gauge said 316 miles.... how many miles does everyone elses DTE gauge say when they fill up?? I Think something is wrong with my needle.

yah my z is about 15g when light is blinking and it reaches full and gives around 300+ miles, at most it gave me 345 miles, but i dont think thiis is accurate because i drive like 280 miles and it starts to blink again. Another weird thing is that in the winter or during the very cold season.. i fill up the tank to the max and it still doesn't give me a full tank and always 3/4 and around 250 miles to empty. never got it checked out cuz to lazy to deal with the dealerships...just fyi

DTE should go to 400 immediately after a fill up. As for everyone mentioning the TSB. There is no way in hell I would want them tearing apart my interior and going into the gas tank to do that work so unless you can't get any gas in the car at any station with any pump I would not recommend letting them do that TSB.

No, but I had corn flakes this morning.

Anyway, back on topic:
DTE of 400? I don't think my car has ever done that, from day 1. The highest DTE i've had was 360ish, and I thought that was good.

Hmm mine does DTE of 400 as soon as I start the car after I have cleared the stopwatch and MPG gauges. Then stays there after driving for 10 to 20 miles.

Because you are asking for them to mess something up. As long as your car is functioning properly and you CAN get gas into it then why give the dealer a chance to mess your car up just because it takes a little longer to get the pump going good.

That makes sense, but what about not being able to fill up all the way or in some cases perhaps the gauge being off.... I'm more worried about the parts that are in there not functioning properly.

Well after reading your post again it looks like your car is just fine. I have taken my DTE to --- and still was only able to put in about 16 gallons. I have seen posts of people going another 100 miles after DTE goes to ---. Filling the car up all the way is a little tricky but it is all about positioning of the tube in the filler neck. Once filled up reset your gauges and drive about 10 miles. The gas gauge should slowly go to past full and your DTE should be <= 400.

I get it too. I just pull the nozzle out a little bit and it works fine.

I always fillup using the slowest setting on the gas nozzel. When I try to go faster it pukes and won't take any more until the air gets back in. After a fillup the DTE is usually over 400 or something. When the light comes on I put in 18 gal and the DTE is at 0.

I finally got my gauge to goto the full line the other night, but then my DTE only went to 286!!!! Even after resting all the other gauges and driving for a couple miles... turning the car off and on and driving again... it never went up past that!!!!!!!
