Car hit at dealer and they wont take responsability!!!!!
ROGUELITE>> on a side note... we need to compile a list of dealerships to post somwhere public on the site where we give them ratings. this will help all those on the list when picking a dealer and service shop and also keep the dealers on their toes. just a thouht.
Yeah, that's a great idea, and it wouldn't be too hard to make such a site. I bet they'd try to sue though, and I'm sure they'd come in and add all sorts of fake entries. How could you get around that?

technically, since it was the lady who hit the car, it's not the dealer's fault, nor are they liable. However, i'd be furious too at the way they treated you (if it were me). However technically, since she didn't stay or leave a note with her info for you on your car, it's a hit and run. The dealership, even though it happened on their lot, are not responsible for acting as middle men in the transfer of the insurance paperwork etc... Exchanging info is solely between you and her, and since that did not occur that can be charged technically as a hit and run. The dealership however should have (since they are witnesses) tried to keep the lady there for you to arrive as long as it was in a timely fashion.
IMO it's a messed up situation all around, but you should have no trouble with your insurance taking care of you on it, and probably waiving your deductible etc....
good luck, and come back soon
