ebay has custom cut windshield shades, worked like a charm.

 

I just don't touch the metal part for a few mins.

 

I drive with those mechanix gloves. I don't feel the heat and it keeps my skin oil from drying out ****.

 

I wear fingerless gloves driving the Zzzz. I just leave one of the goves over the top of the shifter.
