Default What should I buy!!

I really like the whole Z series and i like how the 350z is a great n/a car with great torque and with a solid amount of horsepower. But, i am faced with a huge problem. I dont know what to buy. I have three choices The Evo 8 (not the MR), the 350z, and the Sti. I am really dissipointed that i cant have all these great cars but i would really like some input and help on my decision. I like each car for different reasons.

EVO 8- It's a great car, turbo, very fast, quarter mile of 13.6 (estimated)
STi- Another great car, turbo, very fast, quarter mile of 13.2 (estimated)
350z- Awsome car, Good looking, no HUGE wings (no offense), Not slow but slower than the 8 and the Sti, quarter mile of 13.9 to 14.1ish.

But please forget that you have a Z and just try to help me pick the best car.

*And all these cars will be used to in the 2003 to 2004 range.

Man, if I was still 18 I would be all over the STI or Evo. But I no longer belong in the teeni-bopper crowd at 29. Have you seen the times people get of out a Z with a new bolt ons and ecu flash? low 13's! with out spending too much dough. Why not get a Z do a few mods and get the best of both worlds?

well, I made the EXACT same decision.....the Z, EVO, and STI were the 3 cars I decided on and ultimately I chose the Z because I got a nice discount with Nissan through my employer which gave me the Z with all the options I wanted for almost $5k less than I could get an EVO or STI for. The Z in my opinion is the best balance of looks and performance though. The EVO gives the best pure performance but you sacrafice when it comes to interior and lack of sports car looks.......similar situation with the STI. The Z has a pimp factor though that the other 2 can't touch......it's the only car here that wouldn't be out of place in a parking lot full of Porsches and Bimmers.

GEt the Z. Yes, you may be first to the next stop light if you get the Evo or STI, but then you have to remember, you are sitting at that light in a cheap looking 4 door grocery getter with a wing so big you could iron your clothes on it. Now, if I lived in Hazard county and was out runnin cops on dirt roads every day, I would go for the Evo or STI. BEN

Evo/STi looks like econoboxes souped up/modified...

If your not quite into tuning the cars. Then i'd take the 350Z.. The options are pretty good as well..

But if your into modifying cars and making them fast, then i'd recommend Evo/STi

I owned a WRX before my Z, I put around 15k into my WRX, it was sick looking and fast, but when I sold it and bought a stock 350z, my girlfriend said it was the best sitch i could have done for the money, I hardly got any compliments in my tricked out WRX, just a lot of looks from mexicans in rice rockets and SRT-4 owners that wanted a piece, but when im in the z im always gettin looks from the girls, (mucj better outcome if you ask me) 4 doors were really ugly and I really didnt even need them, only having two seats is just sexy looking, F lag two, the greatest thing was when I first test drove a z, she pulls in any gear at any RPM's, i love it, my WRX didnt and I hated it, take it from me Ive owned both and im telling the z is a better choice, you will also get better gas mileage, my rex got shitty gas mileage compared to my z, anyway I hope my babbling helps you in your decision, good luck

Tim

All 3 are pretty solid choices... depends, what are your priorities... can't go wrong with any of 'em IMO.

+3, but everyone on this forum will agree with that. We all like the 350Z best, that's why we bought one

get the Z. you say that the evo and the sti are faster but thats from a start cuz of awd but once you start getting up there in the speeds the awd is your enemy and the z will take over.

Buy whatever appeals the most to you. As long as you understand the Z isn't exactly suited to daily driving (unless it's a 5AT) it won't haul a lot (except A**) nor will all your friends fit in it (unlike the STi or Evo). But...if you want the all around best bang for the buck and have a vehicle that will do all of the other things above for you, you can't go wrong with a Z.

I am a bit prejudiced, though, as is most of the rest of the forum posters and lurkers here. <G>

Get what suits you best and good luck with your decision. Now go make it already!!!

i would narrow your choice down to the sti or Z...why? because the sti is almost like the evo except it is faster and sounds better... Out of the two i would pick the Z because its a real hellova sports car...your only young once

Drive three; buy one that floats your boat.

does 3-6 ms really matter for you that much? are you going to be professionally racing or something? i mean...for daily driving, and random acceleration once in awhile just for fun...13.9 is awesome!...dont you think? and a Z has a smother powerband (doesnt it?) ...its not that much slower then an STI or EVO (turboed)...andif you turbo a Z, you'll be smoking EVOs and STIs all day long...

Personally, id go with a Z...and i went with a Z (i had a choice of EVO and a Z, because i think EVO is a great looking car too). I'm not a big fan of turbo lag..so NA all the way!
