Only reason I went with performance is because I got a hella good deal on it, I got it cheaper than the enthusiasts they were selling and not budging at all on. Ive seen these cars at the strip pull low 14's and even saw a 13.9 STOCK, so if 13's are your goal, it should be easily attainable. Ive yet to take mine out, 100 degrees with 100% humidity will make it run like ***, so Im waiting for a cool down period.

Does it matter? They run virtually the same performance wise, just makes the car a little more peaky which im not to sure is a good characteristic imo.

 

300 hp is a marketing gimick.

 

Ok, yes the engine is tuned to 300hp for all the models, which are only 3 models for the 2006 Z. No more base, or performance. They will just have the Enthusiast, Touring, and Grand Touring now. I got quoted 27980 for an 06 Enth. 6 spd. Auto is a grand more so 28980. I'm looking ot get one for 29k otd. Wish me luck, Superblack is the best way to go with the LED tail lights.

 

since for 2006 there's no Performance model, will the new Enthusiast model have the VDC option? or do you have to get Touring to get that option? Can you get cloth seats on Touring?

The reason I bought mine Performance model was because I get all the options, without the leather seats.. It's freaking how here in Houston to have the leather seats

Not to hate on Evo 8's, but my friend has one and it's cool for a four door, but I personally like two doors. I feel the Z is just more of a sports car. I chose the enthusiast because of the LSD which is okay for factory, later on I might change it. Also, the HID lights are pretty cool. I would have gotten the track but I have already changed everything that I would have had if I got one. Just make sure you get a Z. You won't be sorry...
