Question "Thump" when shifting from 2nd to 3rd

I hear and feel a pronounced "thump" when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear in the manual mode of my automatic shift. It occurs at all speeds/RPM but louder at the higher speed/RPM. I have a 2005 Touring Z. The dealer says this is not uncommon. Really???????????? Any one else have this problem?

I also have a 2005 Touring with AT, and I have not noticed this when I use the manual mode.

Mine has done this from time to time. All the other shifts are smooth except going from 2nd to 3rd.

OMG , i have this same problem.... is there any solution to it? It sort of just lunges forwards with the thump; i like the lunge but not the thump.

I have this issue too especially during aggressive driving. I plan on mentioning it to my service department when I go in for my 15,000 mile check up. I'm at 13,500 or so now.

I have had that same problem from day one, but it only occurs during aggressive driving. Please let me know what the dealer has to say about this issue.
