Default Do you get compared to the G35C??

Hey everybody, this is my first post. I've been reading around the forums for a few weeks now, and I am going to get an 06 Enthusiast Z Coupe. I can't wait till I'm in one! I think I am almost obsessed with the Z now. Everytime one drives near me, or when I'm behind one, I crack my window a little so could hear the sweet, sweet exhaust note when it accelerates. It's music to my ears.
Anyways, enough about my obsession.. When I told some people from work that I was going to get the Z late this year, what bugged me a lot was that the first thing they said was, "why not get the G35?" as if I was settling or something.. It kind of ticked me off. Then, my friend's girlfriend said the same thing… why not get the G35? It's faster and nicer looking.
Does anyone have any links they can show me that I can prove them wrong about the speed of the Z? Especially with the new 300hp motors coming out for all models, and I heard that the G35 weighs 200lbs more, the Z should have an advantage right? Do you Z owners have people asking you why you "settled" for an "inferior car" to the G35?? That would really start to tick me off if everyone compared my ride to the G35..
By the way, my roommate has a G35 and I also think it is a sweet ride! But it's just not what I'm looking for right now.

It is my understanding that "it's faster" is simply incorrect, though the stock difference is minimal. As far as "nicer looking," that's subjective and I bought the Z because I felt the exact opposite. I prefer the looks of the Z to the G35, and you might too. She might not. No one is right or wrong.

dont be so upset. The G is a nice car too. They're from the same family. The G is more sophisticated, and the Z is more sporty.

Looks wise, its all according to taste.
speed wise, just get your Z and line it up with a G. They'll be conviced if you can drive.

We all get those questions. There is ONE main reason you can always give as to why you don't want a G35. The manual only comes in leather. That was a good enough reason for me.

The Z definitely looks better in my opinion and I didn't want to pay for all that extra weight that slows the car down any ways, .

Yeah, the G`s probably a classier choice. But then again, if I wanted class I`d cough up some cash and get a new bimmer or mercedes.

but then youd be paying in the 45-55k range. its all subjective. i own a g35 because of the luxury and its overall fun. most 350z owners also dont necessarily need 4 seats so the 350z was a wiser choice. there is nothing wrong with comparing sister cars. we all know which sister is hotter though

Yeah, the price is out of range a little bit but a 5 series or most mercedes are gonna be up there in price too. Plus, the M45 is damn sexy and fast for a luxurious sedan...

I get the same questions since I just got my Z. I have an easier answer, though...no G convertible!

I personally liked the feel of both cars, though I never felt that the G was any faster. In fact, on take-off, it seemed the opposite to me. The real nail in the coffin was that I just didnt like the more subdued styling of the G35. I like the edgy "different" look of the Z much better!

The Z is more performance focoused than the G. Most people are'nt performance minded, this is why they think the G is better. More luxory features (power steering coloumn, nice leather, led tails, barcolounger seats etc), the nicer Infiniti showroom, and the better warranty. The Z is lighter, it steers better, accelerates faster, has a sportier interior and exterior. Personally, I hate the front end on the G.

G was too expensive for me. Also Z is more of a bad boy car being a two seater and all....

I agree with Blue Komodo here... the Z is definitely more performance-based than the G and I don't really care for the looks of the front end on the G. I too get asked this question all the time about why I didn't get the G. I personally wanted a 'true' sports car and loved the appeal of a 2-seater. I think the Z definitely looks sexier, but the G looks really nice too. Also, I fell in love with the Daytona Blue color. The G is definitely a nice car by all means, but the Z's more of what I'm looking for in a car at the moment.

There are so many more g's around me. I see one on every corner. Lots of older people and moms driving them too. I love both cars, i just love having a two seater, and throw some rims on the z and it looks so badaZZ. My friend and i switched cars (he has a 300hp g35c) and he said mine felt more torquey and loved how my car handled. His car felt a little less umph then my z but they are very close. In the end, your the one paying the money so get what u want.
