I have heard of this problem but I havn't had the problem myself. If I remember correctly it has something to do with the gas splashing back and causing the pump to think its full. I heard to the be best remedy was to turn the nozel sideways or upside down while you pump and it will let you fill all the way.

EDIT... I have never heard of gas flowing out though

I have a problem somewhat like that... starting last week, my car no longer takes a full tank of gas. It's stops around the half-way mark. I heard that turning the nozzle upside down does the trick, but I'm still going to the dealership to vent my anger.

I sure am glad that somebody posted about this. I have had this problem since I bought my 05 Z back in January. It has never been able to take a full tank of gas and I have turned the nozel sideways, up-side-down, any which way you can think to turn it, I've turned it and still cuts off at the half full point. Thank you for posting the link to the service bulletin.

don't stuff the nozzle in all the way. Pull it out a bit and fill your tank slowly.

this should do the trick
